Thanks everyone! Youve all been amazing.

Now, one last question. The appointment confirmation has a very long list of things we may not bring to the interview, yet nowhere does it say what we should bring.

Im thinking, just to be safe, my copy of the original i129f filing with all documents and evidence, the packet 3 with all documents and evidence, and the originals of all of the correspondence weve had from USCIC, the NVC, etc. as well as the few things that say to bring them when you complete them (DS-160, payment confirmation, appointment confirmation).

I also read on an old form about needing 2 more passport photographs, a DS156, DS156K, DS157, DS230... Do I really need those things, they have not been mentioned in any of my correspondence with the consulate. It would be so nice if a checklist existed not only for what we have to send for Packet 3, but also what to bring with us....

Thanks again!

Someone from ur consulate may bets answer this, but are thinking of taking the correct items so far, just no prohibited items. Make sure u have all the documents from ur checklist, police record, non impediment etc. just be sure to have everything to proof your relationship is legitimate and have all legal documents with u.

In Frankfurt, right? You need nothing whatsoever except your PASSPORT! You might take the interview confirmation and payment confirmation, but if you have an appointment, they have your complete file in front of them. I also had newer photographs and messenger conversations, but nobody wanted to see anything.

That's why the confirmation doesn't say what to bring: because you don't. And that's why there's no checklist. Makes sense, doesn't it?

Take it if it makes you feel better ... read the reviews as well.

Glückwunsch!

It seems a wave of Germans will be leaving pretty soon.

When are you planning to go?

Thank you! Im actually the petitioner. Im have to leave to get back to work sometime in the first week of August (we both only have 1 way tickets back to DE for right now), so even if Chris' visa hasnt shown up I need to leave by the 5th or 6th. As for him, who knows. The consulate said 1-2 weeks, but another member messaged me (which I just saw today, of course after the interview) and said there are people who were approved 5 weeks ago who still dont have their visas. He asked if they are mentioning the delay or just giving the standard response. So, who knows when Chris will travel, I wont book his ticket until his visa is in hand...

My fingers are crossed that there are a wave of Germans coming soon. Weve all waited so long, and now to have technical problems, my heart breaks for the people still waiting. Chris and I both have the work freedom that we are together most of the time which makes it easier, I cant imagine how it must be for those who arent so lucky...
