I misplaced my green card few days ago and I have to leave US less than 10 days for 3weeks. I haven’t reported lost because im filing I-751 this week due to my GC expiring in Oct (2nd anniversary), and just may take too long. When I entered US in 2013 they stamped ( I'm assuming that's the I-551 stamp) my passport until Oct, 2015. Can I re-enter US with I 551 stamp and without GC?

Stamp on my passport looks just like the one attached except exp. date is Oct 2, 2015

what visa did you utilise to arrive in USA?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

ok. i've not read of folk getting this exact stamp - you have something 'un-normal' to me.

IF in fact you have an I-551 stamp with 'that' date on it, it seems that you are safe for your current trip. Get some more opinions, though, as usually folk get a stamp with just the admitted date, and the wording in the visa showing 'endorsement' extends I-551 validity for only 1 year.

Usually this would be 'set' on a K-3 visa, a 2 year duration, but you not mention K-3 at all.

The endorsed visa is a temporary green card. It's good as a green card until the date on the stamp. That stamp looks like mine in my passport next to my visa, only mine was partially stamped ON the visa. LOL
