Donald Trump campaign add appears to show Nazi soldiers marching beneath the White House

Donald Trump tweeted a campaign ad that features Nazi soldiers marching below the White House.

The ad included the Republican candidate's face along with stock images overlaid with an American flag.

Among those images was a group of marching soldiers that, upon close scrutiny, turned out to be Waffen-SS, the elite arm of Hitler's personal army.

The soldiers were identified by their distinctive Flecktarn camouflage.

The humiliating mistake was first spotted by Michael Niemberg. The image was only up on Facebook and Twitter for a short time before the campaign took them down.

According to the Daily Dot, an official with the campaign quickly blamed an intern.

Not that it minimizes the error made by Trump's campaign, but the soldiers in the picture are not real Nazi soldiers.
