Problems contacting Frankfurt embassy

Thank you for your input concerning the payment information! I agree that it is not really clear on their document list but at least this is nothing that is too complicated to fix.

I am so sorry to hear about you still being on hold for the visa being issued, this back and forth is so nerve-wracking. At some moments you can take a step forward cause you reach the next step but then you're back to waiting for something else on that stage :(

Hi Rike,

don't stress out - if the visa was approved at the interview, just wait a few days until the postman rings. The postal strike is over, it'll be there very soon!

I had my interview on May 26 (Tuesday) and got the notification that it had been mailed by consulate June 1 (Monday following). Unfortunately, I wasn't home but on a 1-week vacation ... so I sat there counting the days, wondering if my post office would keep the letter until I returned. Of course they did, they hold them for 7 working days.

Hi D.Ba, thanks so much for your answer, that reassures me a bit. I know that it can sometimes take a while for the visa to be issued, I'm just irritated and anxious because the vice consul had told me that most probably it would be issued the same or the next day. Today again nothing :-( I should have gone on a little holiday as well to get some distraction...

Hi guys! Our K1 application is currently at the NVC and I'm gathering the same documents to send to the Frankfurt embassy after receiving packet 3.

Can I ask what you mean by 'resident history form'?

This is the most recent checklist I've found to use http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/FRN%20-%20Frankfurt.pdf

I can't see anything about a 'resident history form' on it.

Thanks for your help!

The resident history form will be send as a paper document with packet 3. Its simply a document asking you to list all places where you have lived (for at least six months) since you are 16.

Exactly. Just a bad photocopy of a form that looks very home-made.

Mine was a bit weird: Hildesheim - Barcelona - Hildesheim - El Paso - Hildesheim - Frankfurt

Due to my several exchange semesters.

I put month and year and had to add a number of lines (there were only 6 or so on the document).

I'm wondering why they can't just put together one consistent document which they send you with the packet 3 letter. Because the checklist itself had this additional page too that you had to sign and then you get the mysterious "resident form" on top of that (which upon my inquiry they called "the form with the intended date of travel" - which made few sense to me at first). If they'd send you the most recent checklist by mail including the resident form then we'd have a lot less confused people

Oh the resident history form is so confusing! I wish they had one checklist to go off too.

Does anyone know where I can find the resident history form?

Also, I'm currently putting together my packet 3 for the Frankfurt embassy.

Am I required to give them a passport photo the size of American passport photos - 2 inch by 2 inch (51mm by 51mm)??

And if so, does anyone know where I can have my photo taken in this US size in Berlin?

Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, I haven't seen this resident form anywhere online, it came in the packet 3 letter. I was surprised when I saw it cause I had never heard of it before and it made no sense to me that they did not include it in their checklist that you can find online.

The picture that you submit to the embassy has to be in US size. The pictures I had to bring along for my medical, however, had to be German size. Total chaos :D I had my pictures taken at a reguar photo studio that also does job application photos and such, if you tell them you need them for a US visa in American size they can just cut it the right way for you :)

Quick question guys - for the packet 3... do K1 applicants need to submit the 'document delivery address' application on ustraveldocs.com? Or do we submit it at the interview? The checklist isn't really clear.

Also, are black and white photocopies of everything okay? They don't specify colour photocopies, right?

Thanks all!

How long did it take the Frankfurt embassy to get back to you on average?

I have e-mailed them about my missing pack 3 - but so far not even gotten a reply.
