Due to a previous experience in denying my visa , you have to leave someone behind , and convince the CO that you know nobody there and you just go to spend a month for pleasure and you should know the address of the hotel you will reside + a proof of a property in your country , bank statement , job to prove that you have strong ties in your country. Mine was rejected although my husband is American and I only wanted to give him a visit because he was sick and couldn't come to us and sent me his doctor's letter , plane tickets , and from my side I took with me my apartment contract , bank statement , letter from my work place and letters fro my kids' schools , but the CO beside being rude to me he said that my ties in US are much more stronger than in my country. After that experience my husband and I decided to apply for immigrant visa, although we hadn't intended to relocate.

This is because so many knowingly enter the US on a tourist visa or VWP to then stay and adjust status. It's not allowed but forgiven if you're married to a USC and hence people feel it's perfectly fine to do it, not realizing the problems it's causing for others. Like in your case, where you can't even visit your sick husband because of it. :(

OP, Nigeria is a high fraud country plus you've already been denied a visa twice, so you definitely have the odds against you. But if you have the money, then why not try again. Third time's the charm maybe?! :)

It has nothing to do with people marrying and adjusting status, if that were the issue then that process would not be allowed. AOS from marriage to a USC is perfectly legal and USCIS makes a lot of money doing it.

The problem with some folks getting a tourist visa has to do with people who simply do not go home and stay here illegally, they never adjust status and work illegally. These are the people that cause the problems.

Why wouldn't you list your business in the application? It's one of the mandatory questions on DS-160 - are you employed and name of employer plus how much you make on the job. If this job wasn't listed before and now it pops up consular will wonder what else you haven't been disclosing. Did you put wife and kids as relatives on the previous applications?

Seemingly for Nigeria it is more common to put down non existent spouses and children

Yes I am aware of someone that did just that and then stupidly filed for AOS based on getting married and is stuck explaining away the "wife" he had in Nigeria. Last I heard he was paying for some quick death certificate. Hopefully he gets just the outcome he deserves.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thank for the question i didn't list my business there in the first and second application form Ds160. I only indicate the Name of my company plus the rest details and with the issue of Relative in US i said No. Onces i don't have any relative there already i was asked there that, Have you marry? I SAID YES then i told them the name of my wife. No question was asked with my kids inside d form. But during interview CO asked. Pls what is your suggestion!

If you do not bring evidence of your property and business then that means you have no strong ties, so yes bring all papers that prove it.

That's the whole point !

Fill out the form honestly and answer every question. PLUS you bring in the papers to prove it.

What is the difference between your 'business' and your 'company' ?

Do you mean you have a job at a company and also are self employed with a business on the side ?

If so then yes you list both and bring papers to prove it.

That and your wife and kids over there are the strong ties you would need.

All very valid questions.

That will vary from one person to another.
