Almost a year and a half and case hasn't reached NVC k1-visa

Hey guys!

So our k1 - visa experience has been horrible. We applied march 2014 and got our noa2 march 2015. Our case didn't make it to the nvc, because as the immigration officer said they screwed up and didn't send it.. The beginning of June they resent it cause our petition expired and it's still not there. My wedding is in September and have no clue what to do. All documentation when we applied informed them we were getting married sept 2015. Has anyone else dealt with this and what did they do?

Thanks,

Alicia

Have you talked with a supervisor at the NVC?

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

Well first you're probably going to want to reschedule your wedding. Chances are the process will NOT be done by then. They also don't really care when the wedding is, you're on THEIR timeline, which is why as crappy as it sounds, it's not the best idea to solidify wedding plans until you have approved visa in hand.

Other than that, you just need to keep contacting them, and really probably should have kept contacting them everyday from the alotted month they're suppose to give you at NVC.

For me, my NOA2 date was June 02. When I called there June 16th, they told me to call back July 2nd because it should be no later. It ended up being done before then, but it seems that it becomes a bigger deal after those days you're suppose to wait.

Did you get an extension before it expired?? If you didn't and it expired then there is a good chance it's no longer in the system. In that case you REALLY need to contact someone either with USCIS or NVC to find out if you have to refile.

When you got your NOA2 , you had a validity date of 4 months which is July, do you have the day of the month it expires?

I would be using my Senator for this situation

Yeah it expired July first and they had re approve us cause it was their screw up. But that one seems to be lost now. The immigration officer was like oh you will have your visa way before no worries . It's crazy cause my friend used the same lawyer and she lives in the same place and she just went and got married instead and she was all done in like. 3 months! It makes no sense. Yes I contact our senator and she won't return calls and was no use . But I don't get how it's been a year and a half

Yup I have also talked to a supervisor and NVC research contacted me and said they have not clue where it is and they will try and contact uscis to locate it. But still nothing! I even contact ombudsman .

hi - sorry you're having problems.

some search terms for separate advanced search tool:

1. ' uscis ombudsman'

2. 'immigration liason staffer'

rip through the search results this weekend, you should be able to formulate a plan for the 'next step'

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Your Senior Senator for Texas is John Cornyn. Google how to properly address and write him an actual letter not just an email through the contact me button.

I had the same issue where mine got approved and I received NOA very quickly. My files got lost for 5 months en route to NVC and multiple calls and emails to NVC and USCIS didnt help at all. I did seek the help of our Senator's office and an immigration representative look at my case and they found my files at a " records facility" . Its a facility where they store files after being sent to NVC but in my case, NVC never received it. USCIS was able to retrieve my files and was resent to NVC and then the ball started rolling. One lesson, don't give up! Keep calling them. One and half year is wayyyy to long! They dont care about Us and you. You have to be aggressive. I did.

Now I'm thankful we are now in stage of scheduling interview and medical. Good luck to you and i hope this helps you!
