This has been asked many times before so I am surprised TboneTX has not already locked this topic!

Just to clear up my previous post, from RapidVisa's website: RapidVisa is not a law firm, but we have staff council who are licensed in all 50 states to practice immigration law. They advise us and provide legal counsel over our entire operation. In some cases, legal counsel is absolutely required and if you have any concerns you should definitely seek that counsel. RapidVisa offers a legitimate service that helps nearly 100% of cases that have no legal problems get their family visas. In fact, many attorneys use our service themselves! If you’re an attorney who needs some help with the heavy lifting, give us a call!

As I said before, for me the time saving and ease of preparation was worth it for me. I had used similar visa preparation services for tourist visas to Asia. Sure you can fill it all out yourself, but why risk filling something out incorrectly and causing a delay? for me the cost was worth it.

But I agree with most of the other posts, you can get all the info you need from VisaJourney, and the members are quite helpful. I would engage an actual immigration attorney only if you have unique circumstances.

Odd verbage when Immigration Law is Federal. Anyway just means they have lawyer contacts, not that your case is handled by a lawyer.

I have done three family immigration without lawyer.

just by doing that I have enough knowledge that I help three more friend help doing all paper work.

Save them and myself couple thousand $.

if case is straight forward do it yourself. But remember you have to go on-line and spend some time reading stuff and making sure all paperwork are proper.

It is daunting when you get started, but just take it step by step using the guides on here. None of it is difficult - if you get stuck on how to fill in a part of the form, just google or look at the guides on here, and if you can't find the answer, ask a question here.

The most time consuming bit is pulling all the information you need together (eg info on previous trips to the USA, parents details etc). Once you have that, the forms really aren't so bad. I'm just starting on adjustment of status having got my k1 with no RFEs. We feel much more in control doing it ourselves than having to wait for a lawyer to do things when he/she has time. You'd be surprised how many questions on this forum relate to people getting RFEs (requests for further evidence - ie missing info from forms) when they used a lawyer!
