Welcome to VJ. Can you please provide more info on how and why he was removed. The more info you can provide the better the masters of the immigration process here can help. You have not given them much to work with.

Was your father in trouble for any crimes or drugs or was he just picked up by immigration and deported ? If he has certain crimes against him he may never return if it was a simple single deportation then the path is cleaner.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

You likely cannot get an answer about your father's case from US government officials, as those records are confidential and released only to the individual involved or a lawyer the individual has authorized to obtain records on his behalf. So, your fathter will need to make the request for a copy of his records.

You say that you both don't know and don't understand his story. Perhaps youcould ask him for as much information as he can give you and summarize it here so someone might be able to help you understand it.

With criminal charges, highly doubtful.

It definitely requires a lawyer.

You can do a Freedom of Information Act request. However depending on what is revealed, a lawyer may be necessary. This process is not going to be quick or cheap however.

Children can not file a waiver so very much depends on the nature of the criminal charges.
