Yes ! As long you are inline for the interview else you are stuck in background checks and local office does not even gets your file transferred.

I contacted Senator Durbin's office and requested their intervention for an update. You can fill out a request at http://www.durbin.senate.gov/help/services/immigration. Include details necessary to present your case, so the senator's office can do the most they're able to.

So far I have gotten a receipt letter from Senator Durbin's office acknolwedging my request, and it says that I should get a response from the Senator's office with 30-60. I'm hoping they can furnish some new information, or if possible nudge the agency to move the case along if the steps are complete. Will update accordingly when I hear anything new from USCIS or the Senator's office.

Have not contacted the congressman, but will do that after hearing back from Senator's office first. If the processing dates are to be accepted, then at about the same time April filer's turn would've come systematically anyways. I'm not holding my breath. Lol

Thanks for the update, GOLFER.

I got a reply from Senator Durbin's office regarding my case on the request I sent. I'm pending background clearance *as suspected*, but here's to hoping that by the time website hops to April cases, I would have heard something about the interview because until then I can't even open an e-request for 'outside processing time'.

I think that after 4 months, you can force an action/response from USCIS.

I submitted in January and passed the interview in July and still have yet to receive the letter with the Oath Ceremony information.

jjjdddlll, I saw your post in the Citizenship general forum and I know how you feel. If you do not wish to contest it in court, all you need to do is have more patience and wait. I know it is painful and sometimes demotivating but we are limited in what we can do.

I would like to hear about other people who have applied for naturalization in Chicago this year and their experience so far.

I submitted in January and passed the interview in July and still have yet to receive the letter with the Oath Ceremony information.

Thank you, Blesskaye! I am now naturalized. Waiting on my mother to get her oath letter, now. Two and a half weeks since she passed her interview in NYC.
