Technical Issues on DS 260

Hello.

After submitting the DS260 form online. The next step is submitting the I864 affidative of support.

My question is, do i wait for a letter from NVC or do just go ahead and dowanload and submit the I864 form.

You could always call NVC & ask but you may be on hold for forever before speaking to someone. I was finally able to do the DS-260 on Friday, July 10. We had paid our IV fee by mail & sent all of the AOS & I864 stuff in before being able to pay/do the DS-260. I feel like we have done everything backwards because of the technical error & not in the "steps" they give us for an immigration visa.

But you need to have the cover letter for AOS and IV. but I864 forms are available online.

the I-864 is not sent on its own...you will need to include financials documents (AOS docs) and supporting documents (IV docs).......MOST importantly you will need to include the cover sheet. So yes you will have to wait for communications from NVC with this information.

But if you have already submitted the DS-260 that means you must have received the cover sheet already when you paid the IV fee? If this is so and if you have everything, I would go ahead and send it in...don't wait too long because if they review your DS-260 and they have not received your documents, they may checklist you.
