Change to Married name at the GC interview？

Have anyone had the opportunity to change their married name at the green card interview? For instance, did the IO asked any of you if you want to have your married name on the green card even though you filled all the applications with our maiden name? what proof can show them?

Also, if they would't allow change it to married name, is it possible to apply SSN and Driver License in new married name? Just need to bring GC and marriage license?

They will not ask you. You will need to ask them. Let them know you mistakenly filled out the I-485 in your maiden name and you would like the green card to be in your married name. You should only need the marriage certificate for this, which they have already, but bring another copy to the interview.

It shouldn't. The IO would just need to get the name change into their system so the green card gets printed correctly.

If you live close enough and they have one before your interview, you could even make an infopass appointment at your local USCIS office and explain that you want your green card in your married name. Ask if they can change it in their system for you before you even go to the interview. I would still ask the IO about it anyway though, just to be sure.

it wont if ur already in the interview, because u will get approved or denied or await for the decision to be made. none of them is related to u changing ur name.

it will not hurt if u only ask if u can change ur name. :P

3/17/2015 sent out my whole AOS package thru overnight delivery

3/18/2015 received by USCIS in Chicago

3/24/2015 3 Text/e-mail notifications received

3/28/2015 Hardcopies of NOAs in the mailbox (i-130, i-485, i-765)

4/06/2015 Received notification of biometrics

4/17/2015 Biometrics done as scheduled.

4/27/2015 i-485 online status changed ready to schedule an interview. YAY!!!

5/21/2015 i-485 interview is scheduled for June 23rd!!! OMG so surprised!!!!

5/23/2015 i-485 interview notice received in hand

5/29/2015 i-765 is approved and new card is ordered to be produced.

6/05/2015 i-765 approval notice received

6/06/2015 EAD received in hand !!!

6/23/2015 i-485 and i-130 got approved on the spot!!!! waiting for green card to arrive!!

6/29/2015 i-485 and i-130 approval notices received in mail. (welcome letter) YAY!!!

7/09/2015 Finally, received my green card in hand!!!!

ROC Journey now

6/02/2017 i751 package to CSC

6/03/2017 i751 was received by CSC

6/06/2017 check was cashed

6/08/2017 NOA 1 received in mail

6/17/2017 NOA 2 received in mail. Biometrics is scheduled on 6/29/2017 

8/29/2018 Case status changed to "Approved", now waiting for Permanent green card to be delivered!

9/08/2018 10 year GC was delivered.   This journey finally ended today!! yay

We changed my wife's name as we asked during the interview. We got approved on the spot and her GC came with the new name!

we then took the GC and went to SS office and got a new SSN card.

Day 11/14 Mailed AOS Package

Day 11/16 AOS Package Accepted

Day 11/20 Received Text with receipt numbers

Day 11/21 Checks cashed

Day 11/26 -Letter for Biometrix - its on 12/20

Day 12/20/ went to do biometrics, turn away as wife has a cut on thumb - will try to walk in next week

Day 12/28 - bio metrics done ! - walked in San Diego as we were visiting my in laws.

Day 1/4/2013 - received text/email that case is ready to be scheduled for interview !

Day 1/15/2013 - received hard copy letter to let us know interview is on 2/12 !

Day 1/17/2013 - received text/email that EAD has been approved

Day 1/26/2013 - received EAD card

Day 2/12 - interview done - approved on spot!
