Yesterday, after a call to the NVC I was told that my K1 petition had been transferred to the consulate in Port-au-prince. And was given our file #. After checking the CEAC website, it says it is ready for us to schedule our interview. My question is, because I am still waiting to receive our packet, what do I do next? And is there a way to track where the packet is and when it is supposed to arrive? Our case has moved insanely quickly! So I am still trying to wrap my head behind everything :-). Thank you for any advice you can pass on!

When mine was sent to PAP I was waiting for packets to come through there was no packets for my K-1. You need to set your profile on ustraveldocs then pay your fees of $265 at soge-express. Then from there you can get the medical exam done, swt up your onterview, i never got a packet and my fiance went to his interview we are just waiting on his visa to be printed but that glitch is delaying everything.

After NVCsent our information to PAP it was about a month before I received a letter. In the mail from the embassy. My fiancé at that time in Haiti never received any packet so I scanned it and emailed him. We set up an account on the ustraveldocs website, He paid the fee at sogexpress, brought the coverage of the letter of the packet I scanned for him to the medical- I believe his medical was on a Thursday and he went back on Monday to pick up the medical packet. I then actually went to Haiti to deliver him documents and we turned everything into Haiti. Messener in PAP...they told us we needed a 221g form it was basically a cover letter to the documents we were submitting so we had to go find a place to print it. We also had scheduled an interview date on the ustraveldocs website. Our interview was roughly 3weeks after submitting that information. After the interview we picked up his passport at haiti Messener in Jacmel.

cool - PAP uses the ustraveldocs.com website?

OP - set up an account there, and study the instructions for how to pay the visa fee.

once that visa fee is paid, the IV unit knows you are ready to be scheduled and things move along after payment .

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thank You all! For setting up our profile on the traveldoc website, do I need to set it up under his information? Or Mine? And If I print a Cover letter for everything, we shouldnt receive a 221g? And is he the one that has to pay soge bank? Is there any way for me to do it for him for the states? And once I set up the profile, will it give me the checklist for everything I need to include?

fyi -

that's for the visa application, so it must be the visa applicants info (not the petitioners)

but you can set the email address to be your address.

as to paying the visa fee - hey - get your beneficiary involved with a walk-about.

As Darnell said the information on ustraveldocs must be the applicant (your haitian fiancé) however I set up everything (with his info) because his internet connection was close to non-existent since he lived in the countryside. I set up an account with his email and created a password. I had photocopies of all his documents (passport # etc) so any information I needed while crating the account I had.

I actually had included a cover letter with our packet but they still said we needed a 221g form. Once I got that printed I basically just rewrote the documents I had included in my cover letter on the 221g form. We included SO much stuff and some of it I found out wasn't needed but I was so paranoid of getting an RFE for anything that I over-included. Running around port au prince getting documents has always been a nightmare for us.

Your fiancé has to pay the fee himself at a bank, however he has to print a form out from ustraveldocs that has a barcode and he includes that with the fee. You can always westernunion your fiancé money and he should know where a sogexpress is.

Also, the packet the embassy sent me in the USA had the documents listed of what we needed. Off the top of my head I believe it was just the sogexpress receipt, two passport size photos (note- bring extras to the interview they asked us for another one-luckily I had about 5 extras) and the medical in a sealed envelope and that included a chest X-ray cd.

The things I additionally submitted were more proof of evidence- phone records, pictures, my flight tickets from the time I submitted the original k1 packet up until that point, my fiancé had a police report done even though he never had an arrest, and affidavit of support with a cosponsor. I don't think they needed any of this but like I said I dreaded running around PaP and the only way I could get these things to him was to bring them myself and that involved lots of money for plane tickets, time off from work, etc. however everything was worth it!

You guys are wonderful! Thank you all so much. Is his passport # the only thing I will need to have has far as his information goes for setting up the website? So excited how close to the end we are, at least to being in separate countries! Lol. So thankful for all of the help.

I just remembered he will need his official birth certificate! So if he doesn't have it he should get one.

Any other questions just ask because I know there isn't too much information in people going through the process in Haiti so I'd be more than willing to help share my experience to help others!

I did just print the copy of the translated copy, will He need to take his original copy as well? And I'm working on getting all the paperwork together to send to him for the interview? Is there a list of what I need to include? I keep feeling like I'm missing something!
