I believe you did not pay enough attention to the post I quoted above.

And in fact, Habel says she was asked - by the receptionist at time of interview in LONDON - to provide the DS260 (which I believe she is refering to the confirmation page).

I just called the NVC that suggests me to go through the application again, skipping the pages till the last one and then print/email the confirmation page of form DS-260, just like I read in other topic and like just being advised by a VJ user " To view the confirmation page: Login to the CEAC website. Click IV Application at the top. Click View. Click Sign at the top. And you should arrive at the DS-260 confirmation page. They don't email the DS-260 confirmation page unless you click and ask for it to be e-mailed."

Yes, I suggested the same thing. I said if you use the login, then you could return to the application and should be able to get to the confirmation page.

But what if you forgot the login in and password? Starting over would create a second application. And even without the confirmation, London would still be able to conduct the interview. The DS-260 is already associated with the name and LND case number. It is in the file sent from NVC. If you had no confirmation, they would not send you away.

To answer another question posed-- the USCIS immigrant fee of $165 is paid online. Information here http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis/e-filing-using-uscis-elis/paying-uscis-immigrant-fee-uscis-elis/uscis-immigrant-fee

You must have the visa first. You can pay before departure to the U.S. You do not have to wait until arrival in the U.S. as Habel suggested. The USCIS says:

"Once you receive your immigrant visa packet from a U.S. embassy or consulate, we strongly encourage you to pay the fee before you depart for the United States."

Actually, you suggested a different way from the one advised by teeak.

Following his method you do not go back into the application but jump directly to the cofirmation page so that there is not risk to duplicate the application or mess up.

And in fact, you do not need to use a password (that I do not have as I filled the form in one time only) as long as you just log in in the CEAC website (by using CN and Invoice ID).

Hi everyone

Our visa interview experience:

Arrived at the embassy around 7am and joined the queue. At 7.30 they started calling people with 8am appointments to form a separate queue.

A pre-screen officer checked passport And directed to go through security. After that, went in to the embassy and at reception handed in the interview letter and was given the number i-901. This number is the ticket number and will be called on a large screen. By this time a lot of people with other categories were also waiting and being seen. After about ten mins at 8.10 am I was called to the counter to submit all original docs to a pre-screener and get finger prints done. I also submitted two photos.

Then I was asked to wait again until my number was called.

After waiting for about 45 mins and at 9am I was called back to the counter and this time it was the CO. Everyone was very nice and courteous. The CO asked the following questions:

When and where did you meet?

When did you physically meet for the first time ?

Where is your spouse from originally?

How long has your spouse been in the states?

What university did your spouse attend in the states?

Where is your spouse currently living?

When do you intend to travel to the states?

That was it and then she said everything looks good and that the visa has been approved.

Thank you so much everyone for the support, the advice and encouragement for this past year and a half. I know I wouldn't have been able to maintain my sanity had it not been for this family. Thank you Habel, Sbai, hope wings, Sam, susdan and everyone else that has been with me or following this journey. Good luck to everyone who is getting through this journey and I hope our paths cross some time in the future.

Thank you Habel! It is such a huge and welcomed relief. The whole process was made so much smoother thanks to your experience. It really helped a lot. Just waiting to pick up the passport. Have you booked your tickets outbound to the US?

You are more than welcome and I am glad your process has now come to the end. I have not yet purchased my ticket as I have to sort out my stuff here in the UK before I arrange anything.

Yea we are definitely happy about everything. I'm really excited for you to be done with this journey soon as well. And yes, if you're ever around college park, we frequent the AMC there for those comfy seats. If you hear one of us talking in a British accent, don't be shy to come and say hi lol. I will be back to the forums in two years as our marriage is just under 2 years and we will need to file ROC after 2 years but small in comparison to the good times ahead. All the best for your interview process. I'll definitely be looking forward to hearing about the results!!

@ hey Munafn - if you are very close to 2 years....your wife may want to consider waiting to travel at your 2 year mark....(that's if you can stand to be apart for a second more! LOL!).....that way she will get the 10 year GC and you wont have to spend money/time/anxiety doing ROC in 2 years. I don't know if you know that or not....but it might be worth looking at.

Luckily, hubby and I have been married for over 2 years so no ROC for us, thank God...so done with this madness...

on a fun note, I hardly run into brits these days...I guess I am too yankified now! LOL! but hubby is FOB (fresh off the boat! hahhahaha) so you can listen out for his FOB English accent and my yankified English accent. By the way, we're partial to the comfy seats at the Regal in Laurel!!

We did actually look into it and unfortunately that would mean waiting for an additional 3 months and I think we are both just so tired of this process and want to be done with it for the time being because you said it right, we just don't want to be apart even second longer lol. Besides, the second time around at least we will be together during the process and have some semblance of a life lol. If it was more like 4-6 weeks, we may have considered it but it's too long of a wait at this time lol.

That is pretty funny! There's actually a show by that name about immigrants lol. My wife seems to think she will never get yankified. It's just a matter of time though hehe

And wow, I didn't know Regal was rolling out the reclining seats as well. I pass through laurel a few times a week on the way to work. We'll have to check it out soon. But yes, definitely happy days.

Oh btw, like Habel mentioned earlier, it is beneficial getting to the embassy early (like 6.45-7:00 should be alright). While the F2A/IR category has it's own line (once they start calling by appointment times) priority, that line does form a queue fairly quickly especially if there are large family petitions.

And also the line does start to queue outside the embassy before opening hours. There are typically two queues. One is for US citizens who come for consular services and things of that nature. The other is for Visas of all kinds which is where we need to queue up. Oh and the weather seems to be turning at the moment, so definitely make sure your hubby dresses warm. It sucks having to wait outside in the cold for about an hour but it's worth it for being the first one in and first one out in our category.

All the best again and enjoy the long weekend!

Hi guys,

With the interview scheduled at the US embassy in London but still waiting for the email the NVC will send my wife (beneficiary) and me (petitioner), I am wondering about the documentation she will need to bring with her at the interview.

I know that everything should be listed in the above mentioned email but if I can get an anticipation of what my wife will have to provide, it would be great.

In particular, I am a little bit worried about some document they may need and which require time for the institution to provide (like, for instance, when it was for the police certificate she had to get from three different countries).

Or, even easier, the medical exams my wife will need to undergo; how long are they gonna take her to be done?

In summary, any information/suggestion is more than appreciated as the interview time will be in a bit more than one month.

Thanks a lot in advance!!

I am taking advantage of the fact nobody has answered yet to ask you some more questions :)

Very likely, at the medical appointment my wife won't bring any record of the required vaccines; however, I recall my medical years ago (for the GC) where I was in the same situation and they did all the required vaccines the same day.

Do you know if that is a chance also in London?

Another thing, you advised to check the embassy website to make sure the interview's time does not change.

Which is exactly the part of the website I should be checking for?

Last thing, at the NVC stage, my wife sent the NVC the police certificate of the three countries she has lived in her life.

However, as she has been living in London for one year and half now, I believe that only the UK police certificate is required at the medical appointment in London.

Do you agree?

Thanks!!

Hi sorry about the delayed response.

From a document perspective, we were not asked for any documents that were not in the correspondence sheet (interview letter). We did take however a lot of extra documents (photos, convos, bank statements -- anything to prove bonafide marriage) We were not asked for any additional docs though.

For the medical, I had my wife get the required vaccinations outside of the London clinic as she was able to get them done a lot cheaper outside. This enabled us to have a quick experience at the medical. The medical takes about 45 mins to an hour without having to do additional vaccinations. But like you said, you can always opt to have the vaccinations given at that point in time but if you already have had certain vaccinations, you may not need them again. The physician will work to determine what is needed based on past medical history.

For embassy info:

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv

Register on that site so that you can book your method of delivery after the interview. It will also register you for any updates but I would keep an eye on that site to see if you are expected to receive any changes to your interview time. You should also receive an email if there are any changes.

As to the Police certificate question, to be honest I am really unsure of what the right answer is. I think only UK should suffice but I don't want to give wrong information. I would consult professionally to figure that one out.

This is probably one of my last posts on here. Things have definitely been busy but I do wish you and everyone else all the best and a very speedy interview process. Good luck!
