You can skip homeowners insurance if you can pay for the home outright.

You can forgo life insurance if you have enough money to cover your survivors in the event of your untimely death.

You can only forgo car insurance if you also forgo driving. Most if not all States require at least liability insurance. And if you get an auto loan you will need full coverage.

Your arguments are specious and silly.

Negative you just proved my point, and you can't even see it.

Health Insurance is forced upon each person, and if you don't have it then you pay a fine.

There is no fine or forced coverage for Life, Home or Auto

So that means that your GMC doesn't have a valid registration or state inspection. It is illegal for that truck to be used on the streets.

Correct

But I also don't have to pay any insurance to own it.

Thus validating my point of one doesn't need insurance to own a vehicle (In Texas)....

What's the use of having a car if you can't legally drive it on the streets? Maybe if you lived on the King Ranch your GMC would be useful.

It was my fathers and he retired from General Motors in Arlington and he had purchased it new back in 75, So I keep it as a keepsake. I have restored it and installed a new crate motor from GM courtesy of GMC employee discount. It not worth that much being a long bed....

Well, since you've clearly dominated this thread with your vast knowledge, you can come back over to the bombing thread. I'm anxious for your response. :goofy:

You can't drive without auto insurance or equivalent coverage. The same should apply for healthcare. It's quite simple really.

I don't know where you live, but in Texas we are not forced to have auto insurance

It's a choice you make

That explains your outlook on health insurance. Meanwhile the rest of responsible citizens in TX pay for uninsured driver's coverage in case you hit them with your vehicle.

As I said you are not forced.

I have an older GMC Truck, and I have not paid insurance on it for about 8 years now. I have numerous other vehicles that I use for work or daily driver.

But the GMC sit for the most part and I start it up and keep it looking good, but it does not have any insurance.....

Driving without insurance is illegal, even in TX I am sure.

You need insurance to drive it on public roads. Thanks for making my point.

How is it a win for the people?

IF you don't have health insurance then you will get fined and have to pay a penalty, This is basically socialism

I looked at the healthcare choice and it runs about $300 per month for poor coverage under Obamacare

I am also told if you want to be the person who decides not to work, and live off welfare then you get free medical care.

Sorry I don't see this a win for no one. I hope soon to see Obamacare wiped off once we get a new President...

This law has some basic pillars

  • An individual mandate;
  • Creation of purchasing pools;

  • Standardized benefits;

  • Vouchers for the poor to buy insurance;

  • A ban on denying coverage based on a pre-existing condition

Obama care??? No the republican sponsored Health Equity and Access Reform Today Bill of 1993

Sponsored by :Minority Leader Bob Dole, R- Kan., Sens. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, Richard Lugar, R-Ind and two democrats.

It was acutally a plank in the republican platform. Too bad they could not close the deal.

Very interesting how the Justices voted. Surprisingly, the majority opinion was written by "shrub"-appointed Chief Justice Roberts. The dissenting justices, not surprisingly, included Scalia, "Scalito," and Thomas. :wow:

i had a head snap moment today,

learning that several justices traded votes on this and other cases coming up.
