Since you are not sure about which type of birth certificate you sent, this could be the reason. I have the short version, not the version from vital statics. Since I was sending the short version, I also had to send a copy of every page in my passport to support my citizenship.

Good luck!

I've only ever seen one birth certificate. but what i read is its the one with your parents information is the long one. thats the one i sent. my california birth cert does not have a back to it. and i did send pages of my passport but only the pages with the biographic information and the pages with stamps.

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

We have about 10 pictures of us together just this past april. I included phone logs, facebook chat logs, money transactions, plane tickets, flight itineraries, hotel receipts.

What is all the proof of meeting in person you included? The hotel receipts you say you included are the only primary evidence you have of meeting. The pictures, and possibly the plane tickets and flight itineraries are only secondary proof of meeting at best. Did you include any passport stamps or boarding passes? It is possible they want additional proof of meeting in person.

Please note that your phone logs, facebook chat logs and money transactions are all proof of your relationship, but do not prove you have met in person.

what about the bold box at the bottom of the first page of the g-325a? the one that's labeled APPLICANT. do i put her information there even on my g325a, or do i put my own information on my g325a, and her information in the box on her g325a?

thanks for the advice and yea it is driving me crazy.

You will put your name on your G-325A at the top and in the bold box at the bottom. She will put her name in both places on her own G-325A.

I think this might be the reason. I did not put either of our names in the bold box at the bottom. I just left it blank. I didn't see the need since our names already were at the top... It didn't make sense to put it twice...

How does a government agency just "lose" stuff all the time? it's crazy

It happens all the time. They are still humans with an error. Some people here sent same things several times. It is not only happens for K-1 visa petitions. It is also happened for adjust of status (AoS).

I felt the same way as you. that I did everything right. I got an RFE for circumstances that led to us meeting. I took care of it over night the info back and was approved a week later. Its frustrating but they do not seem to operate as we do or think as we do. Its always a guessing game because it is an individuals perception. not always by the rules of engagement on the level we think but again its the adjucators perception of what he or she thinks is missing. But at least you know they are working on your case and as someone said your NOA2 will soon follow after you return what they ask for. After all that... and approved from USCIS. I am now stuck in Administrative Process at NVC day 15. so it is a never ending event of stress. Save your energy for NVC and the Consulate. You will need it by then:) good luck.

" I got an RFE for circumstances that led to us meeting."

What do you mean? Like proof of the actual meeting wasnt enough, you had to say how you first started talking? I don't get it.

I just wish it was a bit more smooth that it's been. road to visa is very bumpy apparently.

what about the birth certificate. i have only ever had one birth certificate. I don't know if its the long or the short. i have never heard of a long or short before this. this is stressing me out. and when the letter comes next week i will be in the philippines with her, so i won't know until i get home

That could be it, I had mine from birth and it wasn't the highly legal one I guess... I actually have 3 different types of birth certificates now in my possession. Not sure why one means more than other at times but it does. I also sent an original, I just requested 2 instead of one but that's not necessary. RFE isn't necessarily a bad thing it means you're next basically. I didn't send photos, I think i sent a copy of passport and a hotel reservation maybe, and then like 400 pages of chat. I think the RFE is on the paper side somewhere or they lost something.

So i guess i can send all pages of my passport if this is it. but why do they want the blank pages of the passport i wonder. seems really weird.
