Help: Father not listed in Birthcert

4 posts in this topic

Do I need to fill-in the father's name on ds-160 even if it's not listed on my son's bc? Or just check the 'I don't know' checkbox?

Thanks in advance

It's up to you. For all the IO knows, the child's father may not have been known at birth but found out at a later date. Therefore you would have no father on birth certificate but would be able to put him on the DS-160. You can put his name on the DS-160.
