I'm guessing he'd just restless at home.

New city, no job yet, no driver's license, no way to get around and see the sights = "boring"

Visa can be used only once and after he leaves and if later down the road they can start the process all over. And, yes a little more scrutiny the next time.

I can't believe one can be bored in LA. But each of us is different and so right now this is a whole new experience. I can remember my wife telling me that during the first 6 months here, the transition is difficult because like in the PI you can just jump on a trike and you are somewhere where you can explore even if it is the mall. She got bored with staying at home while I worked. When I got home, I tried to do things to bring her day back to being whole again.

No one approach is going to be the magic key to unlock his fulfillment here. He and you are going to need to find your way. Get him busy and make sure he has a lifeline back to PI to talk with his friends like Skype.

I feel sorry for those girls/guys who come her on K1 visa, Basically they are stuck home alone in a brand new place. Can't work, can't drive, no friends, etc. I am sure many if not most go thru some sort of depression.

If the tables were turned and I was the person entering the USA on a K1 from Philippines, I think I would go back home.

LA is boring?!

I thought this as well. Seriously if he thinks LA is boring he better thank God you don't live in say San Bernadino or Bakersfield something like that. I know when my wife first got here and we moved to Pasadena (yes, right outside LA) the first couple months she absolutely hated it because she was stuck at home all day and she was still having culture shock. She then decided to take up a hobby of walking where ever she wanted to go in Pasadena. Now she has her license and can drive anywhere she wants to go (that's not on a freeway), and she can't believe that used to walk so far to get to say Target or something like that.

Tell him to give it a couple months and then decide what to do. While on the weekends take him out and around the area to show him the sights.

I live in LA and it is everything but boring. Lol. I hope they don't live in the east side.

Even if he can't drive yet, he only needs a few stuff to get around. Phone with unlimited data plan, maps app, Metro app and Metro tap card. Goodbye boredom.

First months in the US are supposed to be fun. Go out, tour him around the city, meet your relatives... Stuff like that.

Good luck wih marriage you'll need a truck full of patience.

Perhaps he can get to a local adult community school and take classes to get him more involved with the local culture and his new home. TAhat might help with the boredom and give his days more purpose. Good luck.

Westside represent!

L.A. boring? Does he live in Lancaster? Does he live in a dungeon?

I agree that it may be more than just the alleged boredom that's prompting him to go home. Did he move to the U.S. to be with his fiancee or to party all night? I don't get it. Priorities priorities, sacrifice sacrifice.

My wife was initially teetering on the edge of boredom because I was always out at work, but once I taught her how to use our (inept but otherwise convenient) public transportation system and showed her where the parks, beaches, and shopping malls were, she enjoyed it immensely. She even takes strolls around the neighborhood to get to know the area, which is easier to do because the climate is better than in the Philippines.

Anyway, once the guy goes back, he's not gonna be able to come back unless his fiancee reapplies for K1 or marries him here and then file for CR-1 - both cases will still mean a lot of wasted time and money.

I really don't like people who give up so easily and don't take into consideration the sacrifices made to get them to where they are. I sure hope it's more than just boredom for him to go back home, coz if it isn't, good riddance. Not good relationship material.

You already have a time tested relationship. If he doesn't want to marry you anymore, now is the best time to put him on the plane. Huwag na siya dumagdag sa mga TNT. Lol.

Well you know maybe he just used you as stepping stone tapos wala naman talagang intent to marry so he's making excuses then "pretend" to leave. Alam mo yun? parang teleserye eh noh?

Di bale, you'll find someone better. Good luck!
