Hi there

We have completed our ds-160 and sent the "interview ready" form.

Even though we have not received instruction to do so, I'd like to create an account on http://ais.usvisa-info.com

And pay our fee and schedule an interview.

However with the printing delay, do people interpret the above action as inefficient to do?

Our marriage is Oct 2, 2015 so I've been expediting things along and want to get through this last leg.

I was under the impression that London interviews are assigned by the consulate and not the applicants.

Unlike the medical, you don't schedule the interview, the Embassy does.

Once the Embassy has received three items for your case - medical results, DS160 and Readiness form, then that will trigger them to schedule an interview. They will not schedule until the last of all three items has been received.

I'm sure on the Embassy readiness form website, that the official line is that it can take up to six weeks before them will contact you (by letter) with a date. It took them 10 days from the date of the medical to the date I received my interview date letter. However, my DS160 had been submitted prior to the problems/ delays that arose from 9th June onwards, so I don't know how much that has affected subsequent DS160 submissions.

**EDIT: I was typing while Chas was answering, so it ends repeating much of what he already said.

K1's in London do not schedule their interview. Once your medical exam results reach the consulate, you will be in line to be assigned an interview. The embassy will notify you by letter of the date.

Once you have the date, then register and pay on the IMMIGRANT visa site https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv (I believe your link was to nonimmigrant visas.)

This thread will give you an idea of how long between the medical exam date and interview date. You will see it isn't really a exact standard length of time. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/549078-medical-to-interview-date-how-long-2015-data/. Go to the last post to see the full list.
