Case Completed NOW WHAT!?!?

Dear all!

My husband and I finally recieved wonderful news that our case is completed with the NVC and is being sent to Johannesburg for an interview.

They stated that there was still stuff wrong with our affidavit of support/financial evidence. But we have seriously NO CLUE what is wrong. They also said they will send us a checklist of what is wrong and we still have nothing in our email?

Anyways, now that our paperwork is being sent to the consulate, how long until we know when our interview date is?

Go to the interview and take the financial information (i.e. tax returns -2014) and other information for evidence of support. Sometimes the operators at NVC give wrong information. Don't worry about it.

Once your paperwork is sent to the consulate, they will schedule your interview (if it is IR1/CR1) otherwise you will have to work with the consulate to schedule your interview (not sure what visa type you have - it would depend on that).

HEY! Thank you so much for your reply! we have a CR1 visa. And i think it is the tax returns for 2014 because i didnt send those in because I have not finished with them yet.. Should I finish them and send them in?? And then if I do that, do I need to change my i-864 for the 2014 taxes?

Cant comment on the documentation, but currently, interviews are being scheduled for end of July, they told me they only schedule interviews the last two weeks of a month, so I would expect you to have an interview date at the end of August. We are on a K1, and our application arrived a while ago, and we only got an interview date of the 23rd of July.

You should file the tax return. you don't have to change the I-864, they just want the latest. In the interview letter, they will have document statuses.

If the 2014 taxes were not done or filled in in the I-864 you will need to file those taxes and fix the I-864 with the most recent tax return aka 2014.

Can I ask what your scan date was? Just curious because we're also waiting to hear something from NVC and I think we'll also get a checklist in regards to our AOS. Just hope we get like you, a case complete and then we get to fix it for the interview.

I don't know why VJ don't have scan dates as an option in the timeline? That's a pretty important timeline to track, the amount of days from scan date to case complete/checklist. Maybe something for VJ to add?!

Hi ShelbyvdMerwe, so if my calculations are correct, you got your interview roughly 48 days after CC, right? My CC is July 2nd, so hoping for an interview around August 20th (if all goes well!)
