Hello, my fiancée (USC) and I (Canadian) are currently going through the K-1 process.

We were talking about honeymoon plans tonight and I was wondering what the risk is of being denied re-entry into the United States when we come back and whether there is a special form that needs to be submitted to ensure this doesn't happen? Will we have to wait until stuff is processed after the wedding before going on the honeymoon? The destination would be neither Canada or the United States.

Thanks!

If you don't have Advanced Parole, you cannot leave US Soil before you obtain it.

Advanced parole is obtained with your EAD (working permit) around 90 days after you file for Adjustment of Status once you are married.

I wouldn't recommend leaving because you don't have a visa to enter the US again on, because you have already used it to get there.

Your choices are to postpone the international honeymoon until you have at least Advance Parole (or the green card), or to have an interim or full honeymoon within the 50 United States.

Bear in mind that air or ship travel to and from Alaska would risk stopovers in Canada for mechanical trouble. In addition, if you're driving or flying within a 50-mile radius of either international border (where inland CBP stations are), the beneficiary should carry a copy of the marriage certificate.
