Ok I have another question. Who actually issues the fiancé visa? The embassy or the State Department? And where exactly is the visa printed? At the Embassy or at the State Department in Washington? If it's printed at the State Department, is it then forwarded via DHL Express to the embassy?

I ask because the reply from the embassy said that my visa has been approved but not issued yet and that they "hope" that it will be issued next week. I don't know but for me that was a pretty lousy answer. I mean, I would expect this answer if they had no control over the printing and the issuing of the visa. so is that the case? Does the embassy have no control over the issuing and the printing of a fiance visa? Their website states that they printed 1800 visas on Thursday. But what visas were these? I don't know I just know that I have more questions than answers right now.

Well, I dont know how it will help for issuing it, I guess they have an orden by number of application or something. But for recieving it, yes ,I think it could be faster.

I also felt hope when i read they wil work over the weekend. Its jus a matter of couple of days for you all to get it issued

I had my and my kid's interview June 11th in Montreal and we're still waiting. This extra delay has put us all under so much stress. My kids are supposed to be starting high school and middle school in the US August 16th. We've already missed registration, my oldest is supposed to do some equivalency testing at the highschool to figure out her credits. This delay is breaking my heart. After our approval I honestly thought we were finally finished....this part at least.

Hang in there, a lot of us are still waiting on Montreal. I had my interview on May 14th and have been waiting since then, if that helps put it in perspective. Montreal has been very sporadic as of late when it comes to issuing visas. Even with a successful interview (and no request for further documentation) I have seen others who interviewed after me receive their visas already while there are other members here who have been waiting since April if you can believe it.

I can only hope this downtime has given them an opportunity to catch up on whatever needed to be done for those of us waiting for long periods of time. I am unsure of what your CEAC status reads, but I have been lumped back into "Ready" since June 17th without an update since. Just keep an eye on your email inbox and on the CEAC website for the time being.

Oh God, I had no idea it could possibly take that long! Have you tried contacting Montreal? That breaks my heart. I'm lumped in the 'ready' bunch as well.

The best thing to do is try your best not to worry yourself sick. I know that is easier said than done, but it will pay off in the long term.

As for contacting Montreal, I have done that twice via the email form but of course received the automated reply of "a consular officer currently has your file" without much more of an explanation.

My fiancé also contacted her senator who mailed the Montreal consulate to inquire about our delay. To our disappointment he too received an automated response in regards to the system downtime.

I have been in ready in two phases, actually. We are technically start out in "Ready" but the way my case progressed is:

May 14: Interview

May 15: Case Creation Date (Ready Status)

May 22: Still in Ready but there was a status update

May 27: Still in Ready but there was a status update

June 3: Updated to Administrative Processing

June 16: Still in Administrative Processing but there was an update

June 17: Back in the Ready position.

That is the latest update as of today. In all fairness, I have seen many people who interviewed after me receive their visa a mere week after they interviewed, recently. It is very much possible you will not face the same delay I have, but conversely, you may. I would really recommend not making any immediate plans until you have your visa in hand. All of us have been given the standard "two weeks" line by our interviewer as to when we would receive our visas. Some have fallen into that time frame, others have passed it by far. It almost seems like it is an elaborate flip of the coin as to which category you will fall into.
