That's awesome for you two! My fiancée had her interview the day that they had the glitch. The interviewer still told her 2 weeks... before or after the glitch or maybe before they were aware? We might get that email or might not. The suspense is killing me. Arrrrgg

Hello SeaN.....when did r status changed from ready to issued...?.....the approvals before 9th june will get their visas...the problem is for guys whose interviews were held at 9th june and after....

Our status changed from "ready" to "issued" the day after the interview (05 June 2015).

Yesteday I read alarming and worrysome news from The New York Times - The headline reads:

"State Dept Suspends Overseas Passport, Visa Issuance"

As you may have read in the recent weeks, or have been notified as a federal employee like myself, many federal computer information systems have been affected by a malicious hacking. The information itself is alarming, but even more so after knowing that it might also possibly affect my fiancee's K1 issuance which should take place in the next few weeks (our case was just overnighted to the Jerusalem consulate from National Visa Center)!

While the article doesn't specify whether the recent hack/shutdown will have an effect on all types of visa, and fails to give us any real information, it does hint that the "glitch" could delay visa processing for any applicants having applied after June 9th. That could mean so many things.

I would hate to freak people out over this matter, and we shouldn't jump to conclusions, but I do believe it is a relevant discussion. I think we would all appreciate it if there is anyone around who can offer some comforting insight!

As the article and the department of websites says anyone after or on June 9th will be affected so with a date of the 16th the obvious answer is yes it will .

Per the State Dept, this is not related to the cyber attacks. It's an internal problem with their systems. They had a problem last summer, too -- took about two weeks to get it resolved and all the backlogged visas printed. Hopefully, it will take less time for this to resolve.

Goosh, it's just one thing after another with this bloody visa process... Like the process isn't long enough as it is.... The CEAC website have been having issues for six weeks or so now and it's still not fixed. Hopefully, they fix this new issue faster, since it has a more direct impact for US citizens and on business relations as well as financial implications for American companies, when foreigners can't get business visas to do business in the US. Usually, financial implications are valued higher than people when it comes to these situations...

If I were you, I'd ask them on Tuesday after your interview, if they can give you any estimate of how long you'll have to wait for the visa to be issued. Good luck with your interview.
