My husband had his interview in Doha, Qatar on June 7, 2015... they did not say the words approved, but the interviewer said he had done well, and kept his passport and gave him a paper to pay for green card upon receiving the visa, so I will assume it is approved. Does anyone know how long it will take to receive the visa?

They told him "you did well" and gave him a paper to pay his immigrant visa fee ($165). we are assuming that since they gave this paper and kept his passport, that he is approved. those specific words not spoken.

no specific details as to when to pick up the passport was given, only direction to pay after visa is received.

1- Try logging into the website USCIS ELIS and check the status of your visa.

2- If it says "Issued" it means Visa is issued

3- Pay the $165 fee (for printing/mailing of Green Card) ONLY once you have the Passport with Visa in your hand, take a print out of the receipt and show it to officials once land in USA.

That is how they do it. They do not tell you if you are approved or not. It happened to me...i had my interview June 4. They told me i can go home but, when i checked the status of my visa, it says "Ready." Its been 5 working days now.

Best of Luck
