Hi guys!

How are you? Are there any may filers left who didn't have their interview scheduled yet?

I just wanted to tell you how our interview went.

We arrived at the office at 9 am and were out of the office by 10 30, i think. The officer was very professional, we went over all of our petitions, then she asked us questions such as "how did you meet" etc., then asked for the additional documents that we brought to the interview, we went over them too and then she said that everything looks in order and explained about the conditional green card and when we need to apply for the unconditional one, and the interview was over

and a couple days later I looked my case up, and it said "your card is being produced"

That's about it)

Congrats allyalexandra and good luck avania.

We're still collecting paperwork to respond to the RFE we got at interview...it's been kind of a nightmare. Bank won't add me to the account without a utility bill to prove address (all the joint insurance documents we have aren't enough) Utilities don't bill out in joint names, only a primary and I can't be added as a primary as I'm not on the lease and I can't get on the lease as the letting agent requires a green card (it's part of their policy)

This is what we have got, but no idea if it's going to be enough:

- Screen shot of VA e-benefits website showing me listed as a spouse (in pending status as they take forever to process anything)

- Screen shot of water utilities account showing me listed as a spouse (on headed paper)

- Screen shot of electric utilities account showing me listed as a spouse (on headed paper)

- Joint car insurance documents

- Joint renters insurance documents

- Letter from Rental Agents regarding why they can't add me to the lease

- Letters of attestation from four friends (and hopefully the next door neighbor is doing one)

- Screen shots of Facebook conversations and Skype conversations

- Letters of attestation from us both regarding the difficulties we have had getting documents (like the bank)

- Receipts for the engagement and wedding rings, and other gift receipts

They already have around 20 photos from us that we took to interview.

We had an Infopass appointment earlier this week but it was a completely pointless exercise. We're both stressed and really upset - especially considering a lot of people have been accepted on much less than what we have (and there are no real red flags on the case, apart from my husband being a disabled military veteran and I'm only mentioning that as a red flag as it was something that the Interviewer kept bringing up and going back to)

Timeline

I went for my interview at the Newark field office today and got approved on the spot. The interview lasted no later than 10 mins. It was way easier than I expected. The officer was an elderly lady and only asked how did I meet my spouse and what's my occupation. Then she asked for our bank statements (last 3 months), phone bills (last 3 months), lease, renters insurance and health insurance. She smiled and said thank God we never wasted money on an attorney. She then asked for our photo album and the first photo she saw (our wedding photo with the justice of peace making us say vows) she said "I love this one" and gave me back the album without looking further. She then told us we are approved and will get the card in the mail. She went over the green card conditions and sent us on a merry way.

Best of luck to everyone still waiting

Hi everyone, I had my interview at noon today and got approved instantly. The interviewer was so nice and didn't ask us a single question about our marriage. After oath, he asked yes/no questions from 485 and then we chatted about random stuff 30 mins after which he said your green card is approved, good luck. We thanked him, walked out and received a notification that our card is being produced.

Thanks again for all your updates without which we couldn't have been well prepared and ready.

Congratulations to everyone who got approved and good luck to everyone else.

Congratulations! So glad it was seamless for you today. If you don't mind me asking, when did your case get marked as "case ready to be scheduled for interview?" I've been waiting a number of months now and am rather restless and curious about the other big cities processing times.

I wrote a full detailed account of our AOS process, timeline, AP use, and interview on my blog. You can read it here.

No problem, On July 4th 2015 our case was ready to be scheduled for an interview. On January 15th I was notified that my interview would be on Feb 22nd. That's a damn long time. Checking the USCIS processing times for NYC and the NYC thread in VisaJourney kinda helped us expect/prepare for such a long wait.
