Are the japanese police as corrupt as everyone says they are?

Depends on where you are. Where I was, I never saw anything crazy, but I'm thinking money and power in excess affects people in the same way.

You mean they're not racist and you didn't get harassed?

I was denied entry to a bunch of places, but the cops never bothered me. For the most part, I didn't drive a lot there, rode the train or cab.

So they don't like blacks in Japan?

I'd go as far as to say, they just love Japanese more. Asians in general get treated nicely there, even with the animosity between them. White people are revered so that's a no brainer. But for the most part it's not like here. It's more subtle. Not getting into clubs, the people selling things on the street will ignore you, stuff like that.

Agreeing with the subtle part, not so much the rest.

I have seen despicable treatment of Koreans and Chinese going through Narita. White people revered? Not so much now. With the increase in numbers of Japanese having studied/ traveled to America, I would say that level of awe and respect has diminished greatly. Renting apartments is virtually impossible as a foreigner unless the building has been built for that purpose. I could go on and on, suffice it to say nationalism is on the increase, plus the treatment of a short term stay foreigner versus a long term, permanent one is very very different.

Thanks for the information. Last time I was there was 2011.

I know the Koreans and Chinese have their issues, just never saw it up front. And back then my white shipmates got into places I wasn't allowed.

And the dudes that live there permanently have varying experiences. It looks like folks who live on base or close have a much better time than those who live out in town and further out...

If the DJ doesn't send out the tweets, this incident more than likely never happens. He's the main cause of the whole thing.

Exactly ! He should be brought down in a civil suit, and have it filed quickly.

As I've stated twice now, none of the statements in this thread have been proven as factual as of yet. My statements are only based on the outcome that the DJ is responsible for all of these extra people showing up and causing the problems, which appears at this time to be the case in my opinion.

Kids posting about parties on fb is one thing, I'm not a fan of it but I don't believe it is a criminal act. We used to crash parties as kids as well, we just didn't have the added weight of social media to advertise it. A professional DJ falsely promoting a party via social media which ends up causing a riot is criminal and should be treated as such.

Yup - I jumped on the 'DJ is a tardo, he's the responsible party' bandwagon early on.

Sure, I gots lost in the noise, but that's ok too.

Speaking of Hookahs, I haven't seen Spooky in a couple days.

Problem is, this doesn't appear to be a riot. I haven't seen any reports of property damage or torn down buildings. No fires or turned over cars. There have been some people saying 2 security guards were assaulted, a mother of 3 beaten up, kids smoking weed and drinking, but no evidence of this has come to light. It's looking like less and less of a "riot" and more of kids being somewhere they weren't wanted. Even the white people who witnessed it and took video are saying it was a case of them not wanting the black kids there and that's what caused the incident.

To be fair, jumping the fences and crashing the party wasn't the best thing to do. But neither were the racist comments and Mr. Overzealous coming in like Rambo and making it worse. What should have happened is the party should have stopped and they could have identified who was invited and who wasn't and told them it was a private function and to leave. Maybe the kids would have left on their own accord. But they weren't given that chance...

By the state of Texas, no one is calling it a riot. At best, party gone wrong...
