Teen Speaks Out About What Happened When Cops Broke Up A Texas Pool Party

You know you my cousin, but I don't think I can cosign on this.

If this was a private party, then at the best it was a stupid move. Nothing worth going to jail for. But there's a bigger issue here...

This situation could have been handled a lot better had the racial elements been left out completely. Talking about Section 8 housing and making racial comments did nothing but make it worse.

I really don't know what led to the confrontation, be it racial remarks and the attempt to kick them out or the kids were acting up.

If the DJ doesn't send out the tweets, this incident more than likely never happens. He's the main cause of the whole thing.

He caused the cop to do a barrel roll, push a girl to the ground??

The other cops seemed to be handling the incident well until Mighty Mouse appeared on the scene!

Did you miss this Jacque? Sounds to me like no DJ tweets, no incident. Of course none of this has been verified as fact yet, but if true the DJ deserves to pay dearly for the trouble he caused.

A DJ setup in a public space next to the private pool in our neighborhood on Friday and played loud explicit (F-bomb) music for multiple hours (it is unclear if he was invited by a resident as no one has claimed responsibility). The teenagers (both black and white) were being brou...ght into our neighborhood by the carload because the DJ was tweeting out invites to a “pool party” for $15 (obviously unauthorized by our neighborhood). The teens began fighting with each other and pushing their way into our private pool. Some were jumping our fence. The security guard was accosted when he tried to stop the beginnings of this mob scene. Some residents who live around the park/pool area tried to come out and settle things down. The teens started yelling racial slurs at our neighbors and started assaulting people and property (throwing bottles at cars and attacking a mother at the pool with 3 young children). The first officer on the scene was by himself. At that time, the party had grown to a large, aggressive crowd. As the officer arrived, many teens started running through our neighborhood. Many of the teens were being very aggressive and yelling at the officers as more arrived.

Hmm. Who gave the quote?

Not sure what you mean by "pay dearly" and still doesn't excuse old barrel roll's behaviour.

Next you will be suggesting all teenagers have 8pm curfews and never step out of their own neighbourhoods. Next step segregation.

Looks like it was one of the people who is from the neighborhood and involved in the original party. Why, are you saying it isn't credible?

By pay dearly I mean criminally charged with insighting a riot. If it means jail time, I'm all for it. If you've read any of my posts in the other "riot threads" I don't take kindly to folks who incite or participate in gang violence.

I have no idea what your last comment is in reference to. Are you hitting the Hookah again?

Why isn't it credible? Ummm. The person who gave the quote might have an agenda??

re last comment-lots of teenagers post on FB and other social media about upcoming parties and many kids crash those parties. Not sure how you are going to police that. Some people in this neighbourhood seem angry that "outsiders" deigned to enter their neighbourhood, hence my suggestion that segregation might be the answer for such folks.

Hitting the Hookah? I never hit women.

As I've stated twice now, none of the statements in this thread have been proven as factual as of yet. My statements are only based on the outcome that the DJ is responsible for all of these extra people showing up and causing the problems, which appears at this time to be the case in my opinion.

Kids posting about parties on fb is one thing, I'm not a fan of it but I don't believe it is a criminal act. We used to crash parties as kids as well, we just didn't have the added weight of social media to advertise it. A professional DJ falsely promoting a party via social media which ends up causing a riot is criminal and should be treated as such.

Speaking of Hookahs, I haven't seen Spooky in a couple days.

Spooky has probably read tweets regarding my birthday party on Thursday and is packing his bags to fly over. Gonna get a Japanese cop to throw him to the ground;)

One resident, Benet Embry, a black man, posted on Facebook about the events leading up to the police call. “Look, I LIVE in this community and this ENTIRE incident is NOT racial at all,” Embry wrote. “A few THUGS spoiled a COMMUNITY event by fighting, jumping over fences into a PRIVATE pool, harassing and damaging property. Not EVERYTHING is about RACE. WE have other issues that NEED our attention other flights of made up make believe causes.”

In another post he is critical of media coverage of the incident. “I’ve never seen such irresponsible reporting and miss management of media resources in my life,” he said.

Another McKinney resident, Bryan Gestner, posted on Facebook, “This was a Twitter party that turned into a mob event. Jumping pool fence. Assaulting 2 security guards, attacking a mother with three little girls. The video doesn’t show everything.” He continued saying the kids were drinking and “smoking weed” and they would not listen to any of the adults around the pool.

“This isn’t about race,” he continued. “This is about outside kids invading our neighborhood and had no respect for authority or the residents here. I have a target on my back now and I have been threatened by these punks that they are gonna shoot up my house when all I did was try to control the mob and actually tended to the girl and the boy that had a bloody lip.”

I keep forgetting, if one black person says it's not, it can't be. This just doesn't work if it's in reverse.

Also, the bolded part, can you please tell me where in this universe can you attack 2 security guards, a mother of 3, smoke weed and underage drinking at a party where black people are the minority and you have none of this on camera? No arrests and all those kids were detained. Why didn't the mother file a report? Why didn't the security guards come forward?

The security guards should come forward in any event to either confirm or squash what the man is saying. Once race enters the picture many people don't want any part of it... it is a lose-lose situation to report anything.

A lot of minutia in this story that does not matter - cop over reacted from teenagers acting like idiots and drew his gun nd blew up the situation. The rest is stuff that happens in 1000 neighborhoods in the US on an average weekend.

I agree with the first part, but not the second.

If it did happen, it would add some much needed context to the situation. Because you have a few people saying there was an assault on 2 guards AND a mother of 3. But no reports? No video evidence? If anything it would bolster their claim that the cops acted properly. Because as of right now, it's looking like this was a simple case of some people didn't like the fact black kids showed up to a party.

And there still isn't ANYTHING showing these kids doing anything other than being there.
