The average is running between 220-240 days right now, but I know some people from September still waiting longer than that. I'm sorry to tell you, unless you're lucky enough to have someone pick up your file, you'll still be waiting a while.

Ours was well over 200 days before NOA2.

I've noticed that some other couples here have managed to get their application transferred to the California center.

How is this done? Is the decision made in USCIS internally or is this something they will do if you bug them for a status update enough?

A person cannot request a transfer of their case to another service center.

Remember: everyone sends their case to the Texas Lockbox. From there they direct the petition to TSC or CSC. The petitioner have no choice in the matter. Up until the President was made aware of the process and something changed - cases were directed to a particular service center, based upon the petitioner's state they resided in. Currently, this is no longer the case -- as of March 27th all newly filed petitions are being directed to CSC for an undetermined amount of time. In the past the USCIS would do brief transfers to ease case load - this is the only other example of cases (in bulk) being taken from one service center and put into another.

Not trying to be an ###, but I'm at 265 days with no sign of approval soon whatsoever, so you might be up for a long wait. My fiancé called today again, and got told the same thing again "we know you're outside processing time, but you must wait". Our case hasn't even been assigned to an officer yet, and we submitted two inquiries (which they should have got back at us by June 5th - nothing).
I'm not trying to be a debby downer by saying that, just that you should try to prepare yourself for the worst. Best of luck :(

The official processing date is September 18th, but we know from data on here they have been processing later. We have seen approvals from October - early Jan over the last fee weeks. Average waiting times are around 220d. There are a handful of lucky ones being approved in the 5-6 month mark - I was one of them last week - but sadly, no predictable patterns at the moment.

Petitions have been routed to CSC exclusively since about March 27th, without this having much impact on processing times at TSC. Just the backlog not increasing anymore.
