Non-Importable Car? Help please!

The US imports german made cars though under the same names. M3, 325i, SLS, golf etc... but it would be harder to import a car that wasn't also sold in the USA. Not impossibble, but difficult.

The model name doesn't tell you much.

BMW X5 sold for the European market has a different specification than the BMW X5 sold in the NA market.

Same with many VW and Mercedes models. Whether the difference in specification makes it illegal to import without modification, well, that's why you need the certification from the automaker.

I agree but chances of them making it over is higher than a model that isnt sold in the USA under any name I would think.
