I can't find the copy right now. Basically, I lost my original birth certificate so I requested one from the Office of Vital Records. The one I received and sent in had the same exact information as your fiancee's birth certificate but I still received a RFE. I did not want to waste more time or go through the hassle of getting another birth certificate so I just sent copies of my passport pages.

Your fiancee should be fine sending in copies of his passport pages. KayDeeCee provided spot on information as well.

Good Luck!!

Thank you for taking your time to look for it!

I appreciate it :)

Thank you !

Yes, and that's why I wonder why they didn't give me that option in the RFE. But anyway ? we are sending the copy of the passport back as a proof of citizenship ?

Thank you for all the answers, you VJ people are the best ! ?

They didn't give you that option because the RFE is how to fix what you've submitted. Ultimely the cert. was submitted to show citizenship which others have said the passport copied will do also.

Hi, I received the same exact RFE for my birth certificate. I copied all the pages of my passport even the blank ones and sent them in. That satisfied the RFE and my case was approved two weeks later.

I hope this helps.

Just wondering, did you sign on every page of the passport when you made the copy?

And does the copy of the passport have to be in color ? Not black/white?

I never submitted my birth certificate, because I am naturalized US citizen
