I had the opposite experience recently. Caught a flight from Fort Myers to Newark on my way to Berlin. Got to the airport and was offered to hop on the earlier flight that was about to depart. I said I would only if they had any good seats on it (had ample time in Newark to catch my next flight so wasn't in any hurry). They put me into Economy Plus and I had a whole row of seats all to myself. To top that off, I also received a $75.00 voucher for the "inconvenience" that UA apparently caused me. Came to find out, the flight I was on was supposed to leave the night before but didn't due to technical issues. Guess I just got lucky that I was on that flight. Got the voucher even though I wasn't actually inconvenienced. Quite the opposite.

Coke Lady Update

Charles Hobart, a spokesman for United, said previously that the airline has had two conversations with Ahmad as well as "in-depth conversations" with the Shuttle America flight crew to "get a better understanding of what occurred from their perspective".

"We're a company that does not discriminate and we don't tolerate discrimination from our employees or our customers," Hobart said previously. "The president asked that we apologise to Ms. Ahmad and we have done that."

On Wednesday, Hobart added to the statement, saying that the employee, who worked for Shuttle, will no longer be allowed to serve United customers.

I agree, but here it seems to be that folks who make racist and bigoted remarks are untouched(although to be fair, there has been some cracking down) and the folks(like you and me) who make fun of it are called out...
