The airport should not have anything to do with what the airline does in the air I just find it hard to believe on an international flight there was no complimentary alcoholic drinks granted it might not be the best beer or wine

Of course the airport has nothing to do with it. I was just explaining that after a cr£p airport, I found myself on an awful UA flight.

So are you implying that there were no complimentary alcoholic drinks because 99percent of the passengers were Japanese????

The plot thickens;)

yes Korean air, Singapore airlines and ANA have the hottest stewardess

Oh yeah!

The shock from changing flights from ANA to UA-lol ...

US carriers have stopped serving complimentary alcoholic beverages in coach some time ago. I remember the good old days when you got booze vouchers for any connecting domestic flight legs if you were an international passenger. But what's the big deal anyways? Air fares have held up pretty good despite everything else getting more expensive. I still pay around $700-$800 for round trips to Europe same as I did a decade ago. And that's on non-US carriers where I still get the beer, wine and any digestive spirits for free.

Umm. I flew to JFK on ANA. Perfect

Return United Airlines Newark to JFK.

My first language is English btw! There were no alcoholic drinks on the trolley. I asked if alcoholic drinks were available and was told they would have to be purchased with a credit card. You can refute this as much as you like , but this rule was even written in the brochure placed in the seat pocket.

I suggest you try flying UA from Newark to Narita and try to get a complimentary drink.

These are the flight rules 2015.

Chicago is easy peasy.

Being in VT I go through NJ quite often(either that, or JFK, or LGA). I actually don't mind Newark. I wish there were more direct flights out of BTV, which is an awesome, tiny airport. What's wrong with ORD? It is way too big and crowded.

Although I gotta say some of the security measures from EWR to Israel are some of the most extreme I've ever seen.

Another Airport that I've recently been in that I thought was quite insane is MCO.

Milwaukee airport is nice too. I like the small, less busy ones.

Funny, then, that UA makes this big announcement about bringing back beer and wine on long haul flights starting June 1 - that was yesterday. How can they bring back that service when it was not gone as you claim? Short answer is, they can't.

United Airlines passengers will no longer have to reach for their wallets if they ask for wine or beer on long-haul international flights. Not even in economy.

United says it will upgrade the food in its economy cabin, too, offering "a hearty three-course service" that will remain complimentary. Beyond that, the carrier will start selling the same light snacks that it already offers on its domestic flights.

The changes begin June 1, covering United's long-haul flights between the United States and Europe and Asia. They'll also include United flights between the U.S. and Argentina, Brazil and Chile.

"The changes to come on June 1 will deliver an elevated onboard experience on many of our intercontinental flights and will offer travelers the high level of service they expect from a global airline," says Sandra Pineau-Boddison, United's senior vice president of customers.

The return of free drinks and the upgraded meal service on the long international routes will likely be welcomed by United's economy customers. But the effort also comes as United faces stronger competitors, both in the U.S. and abroad.

Agreed...delayed for more than 3 hours a few days ago. We were supposed to leave ar 9:30pm, were on the flight at 12:38 am arriving at 2:28 am. The restaurants in IAW had closed except for Duncan donuts who didn't seem to have anybody manning their booth. The flight was half full, no offer of even a free snack or drink. The same thing happened with delta earlier this year and I was offered free snacks and upgrade. I wasn't even a frequent flyer.
