Yeah they hold a near monopoly on diamonds. It would like if lead were found in abundance in a few places and one company bought all the mines.

I remember the daily show doing a report on aluminum distributors purposely driving up the price of aluminum. They withheld the product from the market to force demand/price up. But there was some law that basically forced them to move product out of their warehouses regularly to keep them from doing exactly what they were doing. So they basically drove it out and around the lot or to other warehouses which made them compliant with the law. Frickin' ridiculous. I'm all for free market economies but there have to be check and balances for the crooks. Apparently unless you're a cable or diamond company.

Personally I think everyone should be required by law to wear a suicide vest on a dead mans trigger. Gun crime would disappear overnight.
