Starkilla quite plainly told you that police records are not required for AOS.

As for question 3, can I make a polite suggestion, that you read the information that is linked from your DV selection letter? It explains how to proceed with the case, you have a case number that needs to be current for you to be interviewed, etc. Most of this information is there, if you take the time to read it.

Thanks for your polite suggestion.

I have read everything not only once, and it's not clear for me, that is why I am asking.

I do not see what you are referring to exactly.

Here, under the required documents section there says, "Police Records."

A link would be much more of a use right now than politeness.

You are referring to the DV, where I thought I was clear I cannot submit the documents they require, but I was approved for the I-485 (got the notice).

However the wait in my group is like 7 years. I'm just looking for the options I have. No need to be too polite.

Thank you.

But, if you have read the stuff then you should understand from the links that you can do AOS from DV and that as long as your case number is current and you can submit the paperwork that is required for AOS (which in some instances differs from consular processing*, like police records as starkilla has clarified) that proves your eligibility for DV, then you will have your interview sometime between October 2015 and September 2016. Numerous people successfully adjust from F1 status having won DV. If you would rather wait 7 years that's up to you of course.

*Not that it's relevant to AOS but as I said before, if the "reciprocity by country" pages state that a police record is unavailable for those residing outside the relevant country then you don't need to get one. So even if you needed police records it wouldn't matter. But you don't.

Hey like I said forget totally about a police record as it won't be applicable to you. First thing you have to do pronto is pay the $330 fee (Assuming you're the only one adjusting in the U.S.) immediately so they can start processing your case. As you may know DV visas are on a first come first serve basis and not everyone who won will eventually get a visa even if qualified once the fiscal year window closes in September next year so you wanna act now. Use the information below and make your payment and you'll get a receipt from State Department. Next you wanna keep checking their bulletin to know when your case number is current so you can begin adjustment of status at the point in time.

Adjustment of Status Fee Payment
When Paying Adjustment of Status Fees Include:
  1. All information completed below.
  2. A cashier’s check or postal money order for the correct Diversity Visa Lottery fee amount, with the DV case number noted on the cashier’s check or money order. You, the selectee in the United States, must pay the diversity visa fee for yourself and for each member of your immediate family also in the United States who plans to adjust status with you here.
  3. A self-addressed stamped envelope.

@Starkilla09, you're an amazing person. Thank you so much. I'm mailing it right away.

A note: I'm the only one who's applying. All my family members are citizens (parents and older brother).

One 2 quick questions:

Hey like I said forget totally about a police record as it won't be applicable to you.

Could you determine why or provide a link where I can learn more about that? I just want to know everything possible on it. Hope you're understand, since this is a most significant process for my whole future.

2nd question:

Does the information on this site apply to my situation as well, or only if as I was under 21? I am very confused about this. I know I'm not a usual case for this process.

WHY would you be confused? Clearly says for Diversity Visa lottery winners who are legally in the US they can do AOS. You're in the US legally, right? F1 visa? Stay that way.

If you just got selected for DV2016, you need to remain in legal status throughout until you get your green card. Depending what your case number is, you need to follow the visa bulletin at state.gov and as soon as it's current you need to send in your AOS (list of everything you need is on the link you posted from USCIS). DO NOT get the medical exam done too early - it's only good for 6 months.

AOS based on parents, who are now both citizens, and you are 25 years old, with an approved I-130 that mom filed?

You really should study priority dates (yes, they apply to visas) as the priority date calendar applies to your exact type of AOS.

Unless, of course, you married a USCitizen recently, then that's a different thing in its entirety.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

NO, you don't follow what's on that page, you follow instructions from USCIS for AOS and they're very clear:

Application Process

To obtain a Green Card, you must file Form I-485.

Supporting Evidence for Form I-485

Submit the following evidence with your Form I-485:

Pay the DOS fee for diversity visa lottery and get the copy of the receipt ready alongside other documents (listed above ^^) so when your case number is ready, you can submit it all. Again, don't rush with the medical exam (I-693) as it's only good for 6 months.

What is your case number? People normally write it as EUR09XXX or whatever their number is so you can guesstimate when your number will be up based on old visa bulletins http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin.html

Amen@ Milimelo I don't know how clear I had to be thanks for bringing it clearly again. Again LISTEN James you CANNOT adjust your status on that approved I-130 from your parent since you're OLDER than 21 hence not an immediate relative of a U.S citizen. You could've however if that petition was filed by your spouse or a U.S citizen child of yours who happened to be at least 21 years of age though. By then these rules wouldn't have applied to you. Though your approved I-130 says you're eligible to apply for adjustment of status, it doesn't specify you're AT this moment. It says so because when it was being filled out your parent indicated that you were gonna adjust status here rather than do consular processing overseas. Reading the current visa bulletin from the state department, those who are ELIGIBLE to adjust status under F1 category which you belong had petitions filed in 2007 with PRIORITY date of 01 SEP 2007 with APPROVED petitions. So judging by that calendar date since you were petitioned 2 years ago, you'll be eligible sometime 5 years from now though your petition is already approved because that's when your priority date WILL be current authorizing you to adjust by then. Hope you get it now.

@milimelo, Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

What is your case number? People normally write it as EUR09XXX or whatever their number is so you can guesstimate when your number will be up based on old visa bulletins http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin.html

My case number is 2016EU000XXXXX

How do I (gu)estimate it? Which number I look at?

2016EU000XXXXX

Would be based on the bolded two numbers which you conveniently didn't list.

For Europe, in May they're interviewing DV2015 folks with EUROPE 30,300 with numbers below 30,300. In June they'll interview EUROPE 34,125 and below.

Oh my.. As you see I don't know how does it work. There is no single guide to all of this. Now I will know but, I couldn't figure out what these numbers (EUROPE 30,300 etc.) mean before. So thanks.

My case # is 2016EU00018XXX. So what does it mean? I would get an interview immediately?
