Ferguson 'Protesters' Are Now Protesting That They Didn't Get Paid

It seems the protestors didn't vet their employers well enough prior to going to "work"...

Now some of the "protesters" themselves are complaining that they never got paid.

In mid-May, Millennial Activists United organized a sit-in at the Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment offices. The reason: MORE owed the protesters money.

The group complained that MORE "created a joint account in which national donors from all over the world have donated over $150,000 to sustain the movement," but "the poor black people of this movement ... have seen little to none of that money."

it's always so much fun to take a link and dig through all the spin and nonsense to get to the truth. if anyone is interested in reading commentary direct from the source, without all the whining about how black people don't care about ANY cause they just want money..here's a link. http://millennialau.tumblr.com/post/119036235946/cutthecheck

Thanks for this Val. I'm pretty sure Dave meant no harm and was just throwing this out there for some constructive dialogue.

Feeling the solidarity with the brothers.

That would imply I was out there protesting. I wasn't. The folks that supported this movement need help way more than I do.

the movement itself needs money. citizens united, right? money makes things happen, money effects change. the movement needs money to have a political voice.

gee, i wonder if that's why so many conservative sites are trying really hard to spin this as a greed thing.

You really need to use the sarcasm font more often...

Ahem. Pretty sure I just copied and pasted. Pretty sure it said protestors, not which color they were. IIRC, the protestors were of at least 3 different racial backgrounds.

The idea that someone did what they did to cause more unrest, and either got paid for it, or at least thought they would get paid, bugs me. And it should bug all of us. IMHO.

That would be the case, IF those people caused property damage and looted.

Protesting is completely different than looting and rioting. Unless there's some sort of video proof or eye witness account that those folks were part of the destruction, you should separate the two.
