Hi. Thank you all for the great advices and insights. First of all, one of the rules in my job is not go to work when we have, 1. Chicken pox and 2. Sore eyes, coz we may infect other agents.

Yes i know that is not a good idea to marry a man that i have not meet in person. We have known each other for almost a year now. Meet his friends and family on facebook and even talked to them on the phone. Being depressed is one of the reason that will be worsen his condition. And also climate here in Ph. I am worried about him. I am afraid that if he gets here and he his condition will worsen, we don't have specialists that will take care of him.

Thank you again for the insights. God bless us all.

The facts are the facts, I provided a link to evidence that a 99.9% rejection rate is an outright lie. We can argue it all you want but until you provide facts you are just blowing smoke.

Paying for a consultation with an immigration lawyer is the worst advice you ever heard? Really? The worst advice I ever heard is relationship advice when someone asks an immigration question. But hey it's all about perspective.

your stats are adjusted according to your link Canada has a 48.7 rejection rate. Do you really believe Canada has more rejection for visas then the Philippines? Stats can be twisted any way to make them look good

According to the USCIS website the service center are processing petition with in 5 months. try telling that to people at the Texas or Nebraska service center that been waiting a lot longer then 5 months

But then again facts do not lie

seeking advice from a lawyer is not bad advice. Telling someone to talk to a lawyer to see about ways to get a waiver so they can move to another country to be with some one They never met in person is

99% of Canadians plus do not need visas, so half of those who do get refused.

I know n that but the link the poster provide did not say that. What good is stats if a person has to interpreted it to fit their needs

according to the stats Canada has a higher percentage of visa rejection but the truth is most Canadians do not need visa.

stats and the truth is different . the truth does not lie

That is a adjusted rate DOS actually calls it the Visa Waiver Program Adjusted Visa Refusal Rate, which equals to [Refusals minus Overcomes] divided by [issuances plus Refusals minus Overcomes]. A 'refusal overcome' means a visa application is initially denied or rejected, but is later overcome when the applicant presents additional information, and a visa is subsequently issued.

Most single females applying for a tourist visa from the Philippines will be denied . some might eventually get approve if they keep trying and submitting more evidence if they have more evidence to submit

I never say anything about her decision. Do I think it is a bad ideal yes

I was replying to another poster that seems to think that getting a visa for a single female in the Philippines is easy according to stats he provided

It is not most single females in the Philippines applying for tourist visa will be deny.

Actually chicken pox is common in the Philippines and yes you can get it at work being in contact with someone that has it . It is highly contagious

". A person with chickenpox is contagious 1-2 days before the rash appears and until all blisters have formed scabs. It takes from 10-21 days after contact with an infected person for someone to develop chickenpox"

ok you can tell that to every single female that applies from there that gets turn down that it is ok there is hope.

It is much better to give them the real facts instead of what some stats can be twisted to say.

honest answer she applied for tourist visa she gets turn down how much do you want to bet?

can she applied sure she can applied, but it is better to know ahead of time what the facts are

the truth is as other have mention it almost impossible for her to get visa. it is not happening

also she is not going to get a waiver

She could do what you suggest and spend money on a lawyer and if by some small chance she gets approve then what go to another country to be with someone she never met. that is the worse advice I ever heard

yes the poster should of said 99.9% of single female which is probably a little high still but more often then not single females from the Philippines will get deny a tourist visa

USEM processes approximately 200,000 NIV applications a year. 80% are approved. They see about 1000 applicants a day. It would make sense that they not even let single women apply, just to cut down on the workload, if they knew in advance that they wouldn't approve them.

According to you the approvals are not going to single women, ok. How is your information derived? Are you polling women as they come out of the embassy? Do you work at the embassy?

Maybe you don't believe the DOS numbers, OK. Provide some information that supports your opinion and make your case, otherwise the numbers are what they are.

People can't take opinion as fact, everyone has an opinion.

I'll tell you why it bothers me so much. When my wife and I started dating I asked her to come to the US for a visit. I couldn't figure out why she didn't want to come. It drove me nuts. I found out that every person she spoke to told her that a single woman from China would never get a visa to the US. She didn't want to be denied so instead of trying she decided to just not apply. It took me months to convince her to apply and when she did she was approved.

Telling someone they can't do something in my opinion is shameful, telling them how to do something is honorable.

I never say she could not apply. I just stated that most likely she will get denied. The only stats and facts you provided is adjusted.

provide some real facts

You can look on here and see how many single females are denied tourist visa from the Philippines. Or you can research it up on the internet but unless it is broken down in numbers you will not believe it

US does not publish figures for the number of visa applicants from PI who are young, female, unemployed, poor and have a US Interest who are refused visas.

So there inevitably will be some speculation.

I think you need to make a plan to meet somewhere, sometime in person. This is the person you want to marry and it's a big decision. He doesn't have to travel the whole way to the Philippines, perhaps you can meet halfway? I know you most likely won't get a US visa so the option of you visiting the US is out. Good luck.

So you have nothing to back up your opinion, it's ok.

and you have nothing to back up your opinion either. Just one set of stats that are adjusted to show visa approval rate Edited by j&ana

I don't mean to be mean but the reasons tht you stated will not warrant a waiver. There's always the option of meeting in a third country (with a shorter travel time for him) or you going to the US. My then-fiance wasn't able to leave the country because he was on probation so the only choice was for me to go see him. Took me 2 tries but I eventually got the tourist visa. We've known each other for 3 years before we got to see each other.

I'll reserve my opinions about you getting married to someone you've never met. I'm sympathetic, for sure. I used to be in the same position. But all I can say is that an internet relationship is 100% differen from a real-world one, let alone a marriage? Plus you don't really get to know someone unless you live with them. We've been together for 4 years now but only living together for 6mos and we have a daughter together and I feel that we're still getting to know each other and it can be stressful at times.

Unless it's the fatal form, Myasthnia Gravis, is completely treatable. There should be no reason why he cannot visit you. I think you need to do some research on his condition. He may just be afraid to visit a foreign country, especially one that has been in the media regarding terrorism. I know, I was one such person, which is why we decided to meet in Singapore.

Maybe chatting with him to understand the real reasons why he isn't coming out to see you would be a better choice of action.
