I don't have a clue if the option is there or not, I assume not. The embassy definitely schedules our interviews for us on their own timeframe, whenever that may be (currently 4-7 weeks after readiness form is submitted. We can submit a contact form online if we want to request a certain timeframe or if we need to reschedule, but they don't really care about our preference. They will reschedule if we need it, but will not guarantee a certain date or how quickly they will reschedule.

I mean, you don't just pick whenever you want online! There's still a wait time. It goes off of their availability. For us, we can either call or schedule online. I believe that's an option for other consulates, as well, but that has to be an annoying system if you can't, though! I can't imagine a consulate wanting to get a flood of phone calls to schedule interviews if they could just have people do it online! Lol

Lol no calling either. London doesn't allow phone calls. You have to use their contact email form from the embassy website. They don't want to be bothered. They schedule the interview automatically after we submit the ds160, medical results are received and we submit the readiness form. Then they just do it and mail a letter with the day and time.

Wow, they sound super fun. Lol! Geez, you'd hope the consulate is a nice break from USCIS!

You have to mail the embassy your medical results? From what I read, in France you go with the results to the interview.

About the medical: Do they check the heart?

I have a heart murmur. It's just a valve in my heart that closes a little loosely and we can hear some blood flow through, but it doesn't effect anything. I've been afraid of being denied because of this!

I was approved May 14 and mine still says approved too. Some people told me yesterday to call NVC anyway because some of them never had their statuses change to processing even though they're now at the interview stage.

No, the medical people will send the results to the embassy. So Daniel will never see his results, but apparently they will call him if there's a problem.

I imagine they listen to your heart but a murmur won't be a reason to deny the visa. Maybe get your doctor to write up a letter detailing your heart murmur and how it doesn't impact your day to day life. Take it to the medical in case they want to see it. I definitely would not stress about that.

That's what I'll do, definitely.

The medical results here have to be given to the embassy with the envelop unopened. Since the embassy is in Paris, many people just go have their medical done a day before or sometimes the morning of the interview (which I will try to avoid doing).

Dumb right? Not the first time, lol. Seems like sometimes they like to close up shop early... I've called at 11:30 before, and they were closed hahaha.

Santy said his medical was a piece of cake! It says 'thorough exam', so I thought it would be.. More in depth, hahahah. But he said it wasn't bad! In Ecuador they don't mail anything anymore. Instead they just bring it to the interview. Every consulate has their own way to do it.

I have a heart murmur. It's just a valve in my heart that closes a little loosely and we can hear some blood flow through, but it doesn't effect anything. I've been afraid of being denied because of this!

A heart murmur can be fickle. Some doctors hear it and some actually don't. My mom has apparently had one for a long time. Her surgeon is the first person to discover it, but her GP still can't hear it. Heart murmurs can be transient or only heard by someone who really knows what to look for. If you are concerned, perhaps get a note from your GP stating that you have it and that it causes you no harm. Chances are they won't even ask about it.

Call the NVC. The best time I found to call them was 6:57am or 11:40am. That's strategic dialing. Right before they open the queue and right before they might leave off to lunch.

What's up with NVC? I called at 11:40pm EST and they were closed?

Had this happen too. Never got through to them at night, and then they went home early. My thinking is they will cram everyone into a full queue and don't want to be stuck overtime talking to more people. They'll finish whomever they have in the queue and if it's a little early then that's it.

Maybe I'm using the wrong number for NVC. I'm getting through now and it's telling me there's a wait then they hang up. It's happened twice today. Just to be clear, it's not the "call back" recording, it's the customer service wait time recording after it actually rings.

is 603-334-0700 the right number (the number listed on the K1 flow chart)?

Or is it 603-334-0888 (which is the number they say to call for a nonimmigrant visa) ?
