The one for status check: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

I didn't believe it would work so I asked my fiancé to check (instead of checking myself) and it was working! It was working an hour later as well.

Just want to add that my check status didn't come up until it was ready for interview. So it's possible that the system just doesn't show you anything until the consulate receives it (meaning that part is the part that's down lol). I checked everyday almost every minute and got nothing up until it up and said 'ready'!

I'm getting aggravated that my case is still "approved" and hasn't been sent to nvc yet. And best case now is Tuesday. Patience is hard yall.

From the average, it takes at least 2 weeks to get to NVC. :( But that means this week it should be there!!

I agree- patience is definitely harder after the NOA2 because of how long we had to wait at TSC!! It's like we shouldn't have to wait anymore after that torture, hahaha!

Everything is harder after NOA2. I go to work but I have no motivation to anymore. I know they say "don't quit before you have your visa in hand" but in my workplace we have to notice the boss that we will quit 3 long months before we actually do... And I don't want to stay here three more months after I have my visa, y'know?

Me again! I don't really understand one thing. This is what the "Ready" status says:

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

Does this mean I have to wait for the NVC or embassy to schedule an appointment for me? I do not understand.

To my understanding ready means your consulate is ready for you to begin submitting documentation. That means, completing your medical, submitting your DS160, and other documentation etc.

For the UK, the consulate schedules the interview for you but only after you have completed the medical, submitted the DS160, readiness form, and paid the fee.

I don't know if it's different for you. Have you received ''packet 3'', or the letter of instructions from the embassy detailing this?

Nope, not yet.

In the France page it says that the NVC schedules, but all of this makes very little sense to me.

Oh well, waiting for the "Packet 3" letter now. I still need 2x2 pictures of myself anyway and can't get them until Wednesday.

The studio where I went last week for my pictures belongs to a photographer who insisted in saying that I needed my pictures in the French size and not 2x2. I wasn't sure (I couldn't check at that moment) so I went with it. And now I see he was wrong! Ugh :(

Technically you schedule your US consulate appt through the Dept of State (NVC), which is why it says you schedule through them. The way I scheduled it, and how I THINK everyone else does but am not sure (I do believe it is, though), is you schedule your interview by doing so online through the Dept of State's appointment service based on your consulate. Once you fill out your DS-160, you register through that website (you need your DS-160 confirmation code to register), and it gives you the option to pick your appointment time. https://ais.usvisa-info.com/?visa_type=iv is the link, I believe.

For the UK, the embassy schedules it, so definitely not everyone schedules their own interview. We do use that site to pay the MRV/visa fee though, after the interview has been scheduled.

I've seen a lot of people talk about a site called ustraveldocs. I have no clue what it's used for though. Does it have anything to do with the interview? I've seen people talk about checking their visa status and delivery of their passport back.

Also, I'm sure you guys will figure this out, but do double-check that you're on the right page when you make the appointment. Immigrant vs. nonimmigrant. In the UK subforum, everyone is very very clear that we need to use the green immigrant page to pay the MRV fee. I would think that would be the same for everyone, but I have no clue. Definitely something worth figuring out.

In Ecuador you can also have the embassy schedule your appt, but the website gives you the option to schedule it, as well. Does it not give you guys the option?

There's a choice on there that says 'I already have an interview' or something like that, so I know you can schedule directly with the embassy, too, if you want, but if it's an option to schedule on the website, that may be easier. :)

I don't have a clue if the option is there or not, I assume not. The embassy definitely schedules our interviews for us on their own timeframe, whenever that may be (currently 4-7 weeks after readiness form is submitted. We can submit a contact form online if we want to request a certain timeframe or if we need to reschedule, but they don't really care about our preference. They will reschedule if we need it, but will not guarantee a certain date or how quickly they will reschedule.
