Hello to all,

How much time do you have after the embassy receives your case in the beneficiary's country to set up the interview? My fiance is in the Dominican Republic.

it normally takes about 2 weeks...or up until they are booked solid that month

Hi Yoly,

You can track the DHL package on the DHL website.

Once you confirm delivery, check your case number on the https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspxsite. If the case says ready, then you can start the ds-160 visa application. After the application is paid, you then go to https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/ to create a profile. From this site, you're able to setup you appointments.

There are two separate appointments. The first is the VAC where they take pictures and finger prints (which the petitioner does not have to attend) the second is the Consulate interview, which the petitioner must attend. Once, the appointment is confirmed, then he can go for the medical examination. FYI.. It's $290US if he needs vaccinations.

From the time the package was received to the scheduling of the interview was about 2 weeks for us.

Good luck..

E...

My petition has been approved!!!! I am in utter disbelief considering they just accepted it on May 5th. I need help in figuring out exactly what to expect from this point forward. I know everything is done electronically, but will they send me (petitioner) the e-mail with instructions or my finace?

seriously? 9 days? wow...congrats...i'm very happy for you...but how is it possible that CSC is this fast? It blows my mind that they can do this yet petitions are stuck at TSC for 8+ months...what the hell are they doing differently?

Congratulations on getting approved!

Now that the USCIS apporved your case they will forward it to the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC will forward the case to the consulate or embassy in your fiancee's country, they will notify you by mail when they do this. Once the consulate or embassy receives the case, they will email you with instructions for your fiancee in preparation for the interview.

Best of luck!

Thank you. There obviously is no rhyme or reason for how they process these. Our case is very simple as neither one of us have ever been married or have children. Maybe some cases require more time to process, but it definitely should not take as long as it it is currently at TSC. Best of luck to you as well.
