I believe she asked for opinions and experiences from people that have done this. And I believe this is a support group. The DS-160 form will need to be done anyway. Starting October 2013 K visa are required. I think most people on here that have the money to visit are doing so. This is not a crime. And I wish all the best of luck on the journey:)

Honesty is your best shot! I see people here being very adamant that you won't get a visa, but truth is, there's no legal conflict and it depends on whoever interviews you and how they see it!

When I went to get my first tourist visa, I wanted to visit my then-boyfriend, meet his family and see if I could ever like living in America. We decided to tell the officer just that. Everybody around be told me that I was stupid and I was practically asking for a refusal. Guess what? The officer might have appreciated my honesty, because I was granted a visa. And no, I wasnt asked for any documents to prove ties to the country. He just asked me if I was planning to stay in the US and get married, and I responded that if our relationship gets to that point, we will do things legally.

The worse that could happen is that you'd be refused. It won't impact your K1 process.

you have no idea , how this gave me strong hope

and yesss i would be soooo honest , and they can feel it, unfortunately i dont have strong ties here, i left my jon now, no job

i am risking but truly it worth, how knows what could happen

i will talk to him as well like u talk logically

we truly need to do it right and legally

if we dont want to do it legally we wont from the beginning hire an attorney for that

i could print emails and the pill for that attorney , anything support the idea i am not running away

i just NEEED to spend time with him and meet his family as he met mine

truly thanks so much , i will go for it and pray to succeed

Just be honest and then it will be up to the officer. My fiancee was in a support group that told her how foolish she was for doing this. So she made a few phone calls to the embassy and NVC which both said it was just fine. I am not here saying you will get it. The odds don't look so good. But, it can happen

you have not applied for a K1 visa yet. Your fiancee petitioned for you, but you will apply for a K1 when your file reaches the Embassy in Egypt. So you're not applying for 2 types of visa at the same time.

My B1/B2 visa was "cancelled without prejudice" when they stuck my K1 visa in my passport.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, i got your point, then i can apply for it even without asking the embassy, but most important to mention in my interview now i have a k1 visa pending and working for it , to be completley honest this is my plan and intention

You could apply without harming the k1, yes, but you need to be realistic. You're giving yourself these expectations and honestly, what could be a false hope. Reading the comments you've written has me worried for you if you get rejected. You can do whatever you'd like, but when you say there's no harm done, if you call wasting money/time, getting disappointed, and feeling heartache if you get rejected, then yeah, harm done. Some say that's a gamble they want to take. You sound like that, so go for it, but as excited as you sound, try not to get your hopes up too much. You should go into this knowing there's a very good chance you could get rejected. You want hope and positive experiences, but if you go in with that, you could be very seriously let down. And if you do get rejected, how are you going to handle it? Your comments are almost as if you couldn't live without your fiance and that the heartache is too much to bear. Like I said, we've all been there. So you need to know what to do and how to handle yourself if you don't get the visa. You keep saying it's not impossible, but you have to remember that the odds may be against you. As honest as you can be with the embassy, that doesn't mean they'll just hand you over a visa. Take heed to what others have said and be prepared for anything to happen- approval OR rejection. Just don't expect either one.

Keep us posted on what happens. Good luck!

Edit: As great as some of these stories may be of others getting visas, remember what someone else said : Your experience will be totally different. It's at your consulate's discretion. Just because others have gotten visas doesn't mean you will. And remember that some of these people already HAD visas before obtaining a visa while awaiting the K1, which makes a difference. Don't just take other's stories and think yours will happen the same way.

i truly thank you so muck for your words and u care about what i am going to feel if i got a rejection

but dont worry i am mature, i know 90% i could have a rejection and 10 % yes

but i do what i can do to be with the person i love , i am like rest of you need to be with her other half

yes i feel i am losing my mind, but i even try to make myself busy by trying to find another way to be with my fiancee while i am waiting for my k1 visa, it will pass maybe with this progress about a month , then a month ran with a little hope with this progress , and starting from august i will wait for my approval for my k1 visa, it could happen anytime, yes maybe 70% not in august but who knows anything could happen , i am not assuming i will have this visa soon, but i am hopeful, waiting and praying

Make sure you bring some of your paper work you have on the I-12yu

you mean like noa1

i was preparing to pring my paper work like noa1

i can print some of emails with the attorney

anything could help

and tell me like what ?

ok and thanks so much for your support :)

No problem. That's what this group is for. I wish I could have found anything on this a while back. And I didn't want to post. I knew many people, that have never tried would believe they were experts on this....... Happy you found some people that actually did it :) Once my fiancee got her visa, the support group on QQ that she was on just said she was lucky. It is just fine for people to disagree, as long as they keep it positive

Lucky, may be a tinge?

Odd one out, definitely.

I agree that we're all here for help and to share our stories. Though I don't believe the feedback here wasn't 'negative'. But it WAS realistic and logical. It's not about disagreeing. Sugar coating things and giving false hope to people does not help, though. Encouragement, yes, but not a false hope. No one said she COULDNT do it. They just informed her of what could happen, as this site is also for. We all know what it's like to be desperate to be with our fiance(e)s. Our lawyers told us they didn't recommend my fiancé visiting (on VWP) because he could get rejected in the airport. We waited months and then finally decided to do it, and we were incredibly happy that he made it through. So of course it's a gamble, but it depends on if you're willing to sacrifice time, money, and possible heartache to do it. OP sounds like she is, so I don't discourage it. Just want to make sure she's prepared for anything, and it sounds like she is now! :)

OP- please post your experience afterwards to offer advice to others going through the same thing as you! And I hope everything works out either way! :)
