I was intimidated at the beginning (when I didn't know anything) more than frustrated.

Upon reading...I knew the timeline and required effort involved, so we set our

expectation accordingly.

However, some frustration came at the Social Security Office and DMV office...later.

I used VJ site 95% of the time to gain necessary knowledge and get questions answered,

and I googled about 5% of the time. I find VJ site to be quite comprehensive.

Frustrated? Yes. Some people that applied after me got approved before me. So I learned the hard way not to base my approval on when others get theirs.

2. What other resources (books, websites, family etc.) did you use to learn about the K1 Visa process?

1. Yes. About how people who applied after me got approved before me. About the long wait times. About how USCIS does not give a d*** about you and your loved one. How service centers work at different speeds. But you know what? You have to realize that you cannot change those things. Only worry about what you have control over.

Frustrated yes, about the unfairness of the process. That some people get processed faster than others.

I got most info from VJ. I think my fiance googled info but most of our info came from VJ.

What frustrates me is that the couples who go on this journey to help their loved ones immigrate the LEGAL WAY are looked at with distrust and scrutiny. But the USCIS isn't batting an eye when administering green cards to the millions of illegals in the USA. It just sucks. Other than that, I had no K-1 worries or frustrations as I used a good visa service. I only used VJ for support and encouragement.

1) Difficulty as it relates to the US government? Yes and no. The process itself is not difficult and unless there is something unique to the case a lawyer is not needed, however the bureaucracy of the process though is mind-boggling. Frustrated? A 1,000 times yes. The delays, the unfair practices, the lack of information/communication, and outdated processing methods are enough to make the blood boil.

2) Just VJ. Most people who haven't gone through this process won't understand.

1. I never had difficulty with my immigration process at all, but I was stressed out alot. Mentally, physically and emotionally,

2. Only VisaJourney. I love this site and I'm so grateful that I found before starting the K1 process.

1. Yes, it was really hard emotionally. Some extra stress was because our paperwork wasn't perfect

1. Not really, except having to repeatedly take time off work to redo my wife's biometric due to her finger prints not being recognized during the AOS and ROC stage of the process. I expect the same thing when she files for Naturalization.

2. Used VJ guide exclusively, but went to USCIS/country State department for the actual forms and country specific process/procedure.

Because of the user statistics, I used my mother's address in AZ to get routed to the CSC, which has been a completely different experience had I used my own. (I used my address everywhere else in the petition and changed my address after receipt, so I don't consider it fraud.) Especially since the week after my NOA1, certain TSC filers were getting routed to CSC randomly. This was a perfect situation for us because with recent notable attacks in his home city and university city and his father (the only breadwinner in the household) is experiencing severe recent health problems.

Given our filing country, instability of events don't surprise me. But had it not been for this site, the TSC wait time would have surprised me and would have added frustration and even desperation. This site is truly a blessing. I know a lot of us may not have joined if we had to pay a membership fee, which could have affected the timeline statistics, but any fee that I would have paid with the information I gained from this site would be worth every penny.
