Ok so just to clarify this confusing topic on NBI's. Do I need ONE NBI only with the single name and then put the annulled name in the AKA box or do I NEED TWO NBI's, one with single name and one with annulled name? I am getting a K-1visa and do not want 221g at interview.

One NBI with an AKA for other name(s) used.

Hank, Thanks and just to be suoer clear. 1. Do I put annulled in the status box. 2. Do I put single full name in the top of the application. 3. In the AKA box do I put annulled full name. without any explanation of what the name is or do I type " annulled name: John Joe watkins"

4. Lastly, in the online form when you choose annulled they ask for husbands name. Is this a mistake or am I to put annulled husbands full name and place of birth.

Thanks!

I'm not even sure why they have annulled on the list, your civil status should revert back to single after an annulment. My fiance put down Single on hers, then at the interview, the only comment the consular officer had on our NBI was that she didn't have the annulled names under the AKA. The officer didn't say anything about the civil status.

I have never completed an NBI, not even seen the form, but to make NBI happy I have read where others have done the AKA for annulled name. Just make sure you have the AKA covered so the embassy is happy.

...still no update on our visa, still AP with the message to submit the required 221g docs, last updated date is still Apr 30. It's been exactly 1 month since we submitted the docs. It'd be nice if the date was changing then we'd at least know someone is looking at our file, but I get the feeling we're probably under some large pile of case files. At this point, I'm just hoping they stick to their unofficial statement that "Most AP is resolved within 60 days of the interview"... A bit disheartening that most timelines who've had their interview in April or May already received their visa.

What's the worst case scenario? I believe the visa validity is 6 months from the medical interview, for us that's September, so for sure they have to issue the visa within that time frame right?

Nope, they are under no obligation to release a visa based on the calendar. It's ready when it's ready.

Having said that, it's time to pick up the phone and make an inquire. Use the information here to get answers:

NEW EMAIL ADDRESS

In order to serve our visa applicants more efficiently, we have created this new e-mail IVMNLAppointments@state.gov , for early appointment requests and visa scheduling issues. Please note, however, that early appointment requests will be approved on a case to case basis (i.e., aging out cases, or in cases involving personal or medical emergencies), and only if visa interview slots are available.

For other immigrant and K visa concerns, please send an e-mail to IVManilaReplies@state.gov.

To enable us to electronically sort the messages and provide better, more timely responses, you should follow the instructions below.

The subject line of your email should indicate the visa applicant’s last name, first and middle name (ex. DOE, John James), case number/USCIS receipt number, visa category and priority date.

Messages should be limited to 500 characters or less. The mail size should not be more than 15 KB.

Do not submit documentation or attachments with your message as our system is unable to receive inquiries with attachments.

Do not send your inquiry more than once as duplicate inquiries will congest our system and delay our response time.

I guess you can't call them anymore... I called and got to the immigrant visa menu, the only options were how to apply, how to prepare for the interview, and other info stuff. They removed the phone option from their contact page as well: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023/contact-us.html

Their email also changed to support-philippines@ustraveldocs.com. I emailed them and got the same response as I did a month ago -- that the visa isn't ready for delivery.

It's really worrying me now that our AP status still says to submit the 221g docs even though they received it on April 29. I assumed the April 30 update was them inserting our doc into our file, but I could be wrong. I'm starting to think the reason why ours hasn't moved is because they think we haven't responded to the 221g yet??

Should I ask my fiance to stop by the embassy to ask if they truly have received our 221g?
