The right form to file the AOS (I-864 or I-864EZ ?)

I am actually the beneficiary, and my wife is the US citizen. I'm filing for a CR-1 visa, so no priority date.

However, my case got sent to the NVC in the beginning of May, and I'm also still not able to pay any fees or fill out the DS-261.

The customer service people told me I could e-mail them instead to complete it, which I did, but that takes 30-60 days to get through so I think their website will be back up before that.

I am also going to try to mail the AOS fee after the weekend if I still can't log on. Apparently it doesn't take as long for them to process the mail payments, maybe 15 days.

That's a good point regarding the police certificate, do you know for how long they are good for? I haven't really seen any info on how recent they should be.

I-864ez gets more checklists because it has some flaws: some check boxes you mark on the computer turn out to be unchecked when the form is printed out. Just make sure you go through it after printing
