RFE... abroad and no mailing address - what to do?

I am a USC living abroad and I put my foreign address on all the forms in our I-130 packet (husband, stepson, stepdaughter) hoping to be expedited – and we were! I knew it was a gamble because we are in a rural area and have no mail service here, but was hoping for the best...

The problem is we’ve gotten an RFE (email). Now, I did put my husband’s work p.o. box on the I-130 cover letter, but didn’t explicitly ask for it to be used. Either way it takes around a month for mail from the US to reach here.

So what can I do?? Can I get USCIS to tell me over the phone what the RFE is about? I could maybe try to change the address to the p.o. box of an acquaintance in the capital (which is a 10 hour bus trip away from us) and request for the RFE to be resent, hoping it takes less than a month.

To further complicate things... I was planning to go home to the US in 3 weeks. Should I change the address to my US address and ask them to resend? Will it mess up our cases being expedited at USCIS?

We have a 9 month old son and I was really hoping not to be a split up our family for too long!

11-30-2015 - Case Complete for husband! (24 days in supervisor review)

You can double check with them where they sent the RFE. If it's not going to the PO box then I suggest you change your address to the USA. The unofficial auto expedite would remain in place as you filed from abroad and your case has already been looked at in 1 month.
