Lostsa good cheese from Wisconsin, no need to import.

American cheese is by federal law not actually cheese but a homogeneous plastic mass

"American cheese" is a mild, meltable, and stable concoction of natural cheese bits mixed with emulsifying agents to make, in the language of the law, "a homogeneous plastic mass."

still I like my cheeseburger

So the only pleasure a person can have is Shrimp and Lobster tails at my expense ?

That's just Hoarse c rap. Best times of my life-- Building forts in the woods, swimming in the creek, playing in old refrigerator boxes.. Money does not buy pleasure and people thinking that poor people need shrimp and lobster to have pleasure is whats got this country so F'ed up.

I'm not even talking about shrimp and lobster. I'm talking about the fact that these people, under this rule, can't even buy spices or ketchup for their sandwiches of spaghetti sauce.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

Well, in Wisconsin, they're trying to make it so these people can't buy ketchup to put on a sandwich or pasta sauce to put on some noodles. Because those count as 'seasonings/seasoned food'.

They don't want these people to have pepper, oregano, rosemary, curry powder, any of the things you season food with. They don't mention salt, but I would think that is a seasoning. So if they can't buy salt or seafood, where are they going to get iodine? Which, btw, is a necessary nutrient for thyroid health...

Often times things get mis quoted but if that is true that's absurd.

Ketchup should be a basic human right

Ketchup should be a basic human right

YIELD: Makes about 2 3/4 cups

ACTIVE TIME: 20 min

TOTAL TIME: 3 hr (includes cooling)

Ingredients
  • 1 (28-to 32-ounces) can whole tomatoes in juice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
Preparation

Purée tomatoes with juice in a blender until smooth. 3Cook onion and garlic in oil with 1/4 teaspoon salt in a 4-quart heavy saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until golden, about 8 minutes. Add spices and 1/2 teaspoon pepper and cook, stirring frequently, 1 minute. Add tomato purée, tomato paste, brown sugar, and vinegar and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until very thick, 45 to 55 minutes (stir more frequently toward end of cooking to prevent scorching).

Purée ketchup in blender until smooth (use caution when blending hot liquids). Chill at least 2 hours (for flavors to develop).

Cooks' note: Ketchup keeps, chilled, 1 month.

"Ketchup for their sandwiches of spaghetti sauce"??? Well, I'm not sure I understand that but ketchup for any sandwich should be against the law.

Ketchup is for fries only. The way God intended.

I'll make an exception for ketchup and scrambled eggs; but that's it.
