Good morning everyone.

We received P4 email yesterday with the documents that we need to bring.

I have a couple of items that they are asking for which I am not clear about and those are listed below.

1) Fee. What fee? My IV fee?

2) Photograph. What type of photograph?

If anyone can provide insight that would be great.

Thanks,

Canuck

I was really hoping for interview date in June,

But from everyone's signatures it looks like that isn't going to happen.

I wonder if the delay between NVC case complete to assign to embassy is because of mailing system from US to Canada?

I kid you not, I mailed my documents to Windsor police for police report on a Monday from Detroit. And it reached them a week later on Wednesday.

While I ordered my birth certificate from Pakistan. They shipped it on Tuesday, and DHL delivered me on Thursday.

I'm not a 100% on the fee, but possibly the ELIS fee ($165) but I thought info was given on how to pay that at/after the interview....

photos - more US sized passport photos.... I think 2 from what I've read before....

Hello guys, just curious and mostly hopeful. We sent our AOS and civil docs on the last week of April and received two emails from NVC: 1. Enrolment for online processing method welcome email, and 2. Saying that it will take 60 days for review our docs. One email following the other on May 1!

I called NVC, and the lovely lady said quote: oh by the way, it will take 30 days to review your case, not 60 days like it says in your notice.. I was over the moon, although I couldn't express my feelings for some reason.

So my question is, would it be possible for us to get an interview for June? Or how long does it takes for interview date after they review documents?

Thank you guys.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just checking in..... how are things going?? Any new cc's or interview dates assigned?

My daughters and I finally have all of our CC's!! It'd be nice if they used youngest's 04/30 to schedule the batch of us, but I suspect they'll base it on the last one of 05/18.....

Congrats Christina..

I got my case number yesterday.. So still a long way to go for me.

I was checking the cost of traveling to Montreal either in my car or flight or train. Car cost about $100, train cost for me my son and mother about $700, and plane for me and my son about $500.

So car it is.. lol (9 hour drive)

Now that you have the case number, it will FLY by!! It's such a flurry of activity, especially compared to the sitting and waiting for the NOA2! LOL :)

For us, train was the best option... with 2 (maybe 3) kids coming with us a 10-12 hour car ride was not looking pleasant...... this way we also don't have to worry about parking or navigating street signs in French ;) or paying for parking...... and the train station is downtown - within walking distance to the hotel I'm looking at and to the consulate..... :) We are talking about making a mini vacation of this, roam like a tourist for a couple extra days after the interview (not before, I'll be a basket case!) :D

I lived in Ottawa for three years. And loved to visit Quebec side often. It's a lot more fun and laid back than English speaking areas.

About traffic signs, all the numbers/speed limit are pretty much same. Parking sign would say Lun to Ven (Monday to Friday), Centre-Ville (Downtown), Autoroute (Highway) , Ralentissez (Slow down). That's pretty much all you need to know.

By the way, I just sent out all my documents scanned to the NVC email address they provided on the site, even though I haven't received any instructions. lol

Awesome!!! Hope everything flies through with no issues!! My mantra has been "Quick-CC-No-Checklist" LOL

I only have the basic grade 9 French I needed to get my diploma in high school.... I'd never remember what's what... LOL!! And my sense of direction is terrible! LOL :)

We're hoping to see Notre Dame, head up Mount Royal, and see the Botanical Gardens... Hubby and I are history nuts so going into Old Montreal will be a real treat :) :)

Good luck peeps :)

I got an interview date! I was given an interview date in an email I got this morning for June 16 at 10am. I am applying under the CR-1/IR-1 visa. Is there a difference between K1 vs CR 1 interview dates?

That's why I posted a question about an hr ago on the message board. Did those of you who are applying under the CR-1 visa have to register your scheduled appointment time?

TIA everyone =)

Yes. NvC books your interview and K1 book their own. And yes you do but you cannot until the file is in Montreal. Give it a week or two. Make sure your ceac status says ready.

Congrats!!!

Btw don't worry about the time. Montréal is first come, first serve.
