You didn't say how long you will spend in the Phil, or your exact dates and if that was for only one person or two but I did a quick search on one of my recommendations for travel sites itasoftware.com and was able to get a round trip ticket in June for 15 day stay for one person for $691. Again your mileage may vary.

We are leaving on June 5th and I am coming back on June 22nd, my wife and daughter are staying for another 5 weeks. My wife and my daughter are flying on one ticket RT and I am flying on a separate RT ticket. So I booked it for one person.

Where are you flying from and too? Because I just looked today and it's alot more than $691.

I'm in for that price! But you forgot to say that its probably a 2 day arrival with 18 hr layover in Qatar, haha.

FWIW Delta, I believe flys 1 hop from Detroit-Tokyo-Manila. May not be the cheapest but certainly the most convenient.

That's the main problem with the 'best' deals. They are usually but not always, the longest. Its a tradeoff you need to explore.

I bought my round trip ticket on United.com for $755 total. I found it on Google flights. I leave May 7th thru May 25th. I'm flying from SFO and I have a short stop over in Japan. When I fly back I actually arrive in my home city San Jose. The airline coming back is ANA.

I have also used Expedia in the past. I usually pay between $800 and $900. Of course I have never traveled in June and the rates are probably more.

Not sure why people recommend PAL. My experience has been that they are ALWAYS more expensive. Just yesterday I looked up a comparison for a friend o/w 2pax SFO - MNL May 16. CheapoAir using EVA was $225 cheaper than the quote he had from PAL and $275 cheaper if he moved his departure 2 days.

I have taken PAL and unless you get a promo I find it expensive also. With that said I will purchase for my wife as it's a non stop.

Well thank you all for information. It's my husband actually that is thinking of doing a round trip around May 25th til June 22 over here and the prices we see are higher than before.

I just checked Delta for flights the next few months. They are about double what I usually pay.

I would have ordered a different flight myself, but I had to think about my wife and our 20 month old. They are the most direct flights out of LAX.

I'm getting PAL also for the same reason.

Sometimes you have to get off the beat'n path to find the gold.

Other sites to check for fares:

https://www.google.com/flights/

http://www.kayak.com/

http://www.skyscanner.com/

http://www.seatguru.com/

https://www.hipmunk.com/

These are the people who write the software for most major air carriers that use for their reservation systems.

http://matrix.itasoftware.com/

I often use the ITA Software Matrix, which is one of the most useful tools to search for available flights and low fares. ITA Matrix is awesome, in that you can type in all kinds of commands like which airline you want to fly, certain dates, specific airports and whether you will change airports to get a better price. After you click “Search” you will be taken to a calendar displaying the lowest fare departing each day. Clicking on a particular date will bring up the lowest prices departing on that date.

Unfortunately the ITA Matrix is only for finding airfares. You don’t have the ability to book directly through this site. Write down the dates and flight numbers that work for you, and book directly through the airline site or online travel agency you prefer. I hope this helps.

For advance instructions in using ITA go here for a great article: http://travelcodex.com/2012/01/advanced-routing-language-in-ita/

Oh trust me the two I stated are my go to sites, but I go to almost all the sites that are available online. Kayak is good for domestic but not that ok for international flights. I use Seatguru to check the times and routes of the different airlines, they also show the seating arrangement as well.

I have never tried ITA but I will in the future.

Try google flights.... it is good and fast. BTW google owns the software company ita software and google flights, so they pretty much have good grasp of flights and prices. But checking other good sites is not to be missed.

You can try them all and the prices will be different because the system is constantly being updated and changed. So if you see a good price move on it because in an hour it could be gone.

Try some of the other site that I offered. Do some comparison. BTW there are no direct flights to CEBU. You'll fly into Manila most likely and then to Cebu or you can fly to China and directly into Cebu. I checked 5/15 from FLL to CEB $735 one way. Ft. Lauderdale/Toronto/Tokyo/Cebu 38 hours to safe a few extra bucks.
