checklist for IV fee (split topic)

Hello again guys, i thought it would be fitting to ask it here since it was mentioned. If I send the AOS and IV packages after AOS fee is "paid", what are the chances the the IV would be invoiced and DS260 (visa application) be completed so I wont get a checklist by the time they start reading my papers? I read on the NVC filers april thread that 2 people got checklisted for IV fee and DS260. I guess I just have to get them to review the choice of agent? And how many weeks after doing the choice of agent should I call them to review it? thanks guys

They are starting to review the AOS and IV packets faster then they was before. Right now it seems to be taking them about 30 days, before it was taking about 60 days

1. you could send in your packets after your Aos fee is paid and just start calling NVC until they review DS-261 on the phone for you

2 you could wait a couple of weeks after your Aos fee is paid to have some extra time of course you still should call nvc and have them review your Ds-261 over the phone as that is quicker then just waiting on them.

Just to add I sent in my documents right after I paid the Aos fees it took them 38 days to review my Documents. I also call The NVC and got them to review my DS-261 over the phone. I did have to call several times before I got an agent to do it

Getting a checklist for the IV fee and DS-260 isn't a big deal. It's just a reminder that they don't have it and doesn't waste any time at all. It's getting the checklist for the AOS documentation or missing civil docs that you already sent that you want to avoid.

Try calling after 12 days or so because the case might still be locked. I called exactly 14 days after i filled my 261, got billed after 1 business day. Good luck!

Your message was the one that i was looking for keep it calm until i get my case completed.

On April 10th I received a checklist from NVC asking me for the IV Fee that i haven't paid on that date. Right now, I paid the fee and

filled/sent the form DS260 on April 16th, and i'm just waiting for the final decision. Hope that happen soon, right now

I'm on the 44 day of 60. Maybe i have to count the days from the date that i received the checklist, or doesn't matter because,

like you said, it was just a remainder for make the payment.

Before it did not matter to if you send in the packets earlier as it was taking up to 60 days or more to review documents

and my advice would of been to mail them in before the IV fee is paid. now that the NVC has speed up the process for reviewing Documents but not for reviewing DS-261. My advice will be to wait a couple of weeks before sending in documents or if you want to send documents right away to start calling NVC everyday to have them review the DS-261

Our DS-261 (Choice of Agent) now shows "COMPLETED" only a couple days after filling it. Does that mean it has been reviewed already?

We paid the AOS fee a couple days ago. It shows "IN PROCESS". We didn't get a barcoded sheet for the AOS, will that become available once the status changes do "PAID"?

We have our IV and AOS packages ready, just waiting for the barcoded sheet. Read instructions to place both packages on separate manila envelopes (writing on them the case number, IV or AOS and names) and mail them inside another envelope to the NVC. Is this correct?

After we find out they received it, what should we call them for? To invoice the IV fee so we can fill the DS-260?

Thanks!

Showing complete for the Ds-261 is not the same. That just means you fill out the form. The NVC still need to review the ds-261 so that you can paid the IV fee. you will need to call them if you want to speed up the process. you will probably have to call them more then onc

Yes you will be able print an Aos document cover sheet letter soon but you can also use the bar coded cover sheet from the NVC welcome letter. Either one will work as the NVC just need your case number which is on the barcoded cover sheets they all have your case number

Thanks j&ana! Should we start calling now to get that DS-261 reviewed then? We would hate to get a checklist just because the IV fee wasn't paid in time because it wasn't invoiced.

We haven't received any physical mail from the NVC with the barcode, so more waiting there then.

Want to get things done as soon as possible with the NVC. Our embassy usually schedules interviews 2 months ahead, less waiting the better.
