Ted Cruz’s Father Endorses Scott Walker For President

Pastor Rafael Cruz, the father of Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), offered up a heartfelt endorsement today for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, saying he hopes Walker will run for president in the 2016 election, defeat Hillary Clinton, and “take our country back.”

“Scott Walker is the leader our great nation needs right now. He’s the leader we’ve needed for the past seven years,” Cruz said during a radio interview in Dallas, Texas. “America needs a leader who understands what it means to be an American. Scott Walker has two fingers on the pulse of what American families consider to be prosperity. He has a vision for the future of America, and no other candidate in the field right now can say the same.”

“I’m hopeful [Walker] will run in 2016,” Cruz continued. “America needs him. There’s a spotlight shining in a darkened sky right now, with a `W’ over it. America needs you, Scott Walker. We need you to reverse Obamacare, and bring morality and decency back into America’s mainstream. We need you to take our country back.”

Cruz’s own son, Ted Cruz, is also running in 2016, having announced his candidacy on March 23rd. But the elder Cruz said that he “votes with my mind, not with my heart.”

“My son is a great Republican, but he’s no president,” Rafael Cruz says. “Everyone knows this. Everyone jokes about this. He’ll never be president. If you saw the struggle I went through to get him to mow our lawn or take out the trash when he was a teenager, you wouldn’t want to vote for him, either. He was a chronic masturbator back then, too. We do not need that sort of behavior in the Oval Office. And besides, Teddy was born in Canada. He isn’t eligible for the White House. After eight years of a Kenyan, America can’t handle four or eight years of a Canadian. I’m not even sure which would be worse.”

Rafael Cruz offered to donate $8,000 to Scott Walker’s potential campaign, vowing to do so the day Walker announces his candidacy. “I’ve got the money set aside just for Governor Walker and his presidential campaign,” Cruz says. “There isn’t another candidate in the field, announced or theoretical, whom I’d want to give this money to. It’s Scott Walker or bust. And I’ll convince everyone in my church to donate to his campaign as well.”
