Hi guys,

New here. My bf and I is thinking of getting a firm to help us process our K1 visa. Both of us are busy and we want the procedure to go as smoothly as possible. I found this site and apparently they have good reviews? I just wanted to know, has anyone here has used this service before? Are they Legitimate? Has anybody used a firm or anything like it to process their visa? Any recommendation?

Thank you! (L)

This is a DIY site. The people here don't feel the need to use services like those or even using a lawyer. You can do it yourself. There are a lot of people here who could and would help with your journey. Plus, its an added expense on your part. :)

I too am very busy. Juggling multiple tasks in work and taking care of twins right after. Allocate 1 to 2 hours a day or maybe even during the weekends to process and gather your requirements. Time management, patience and proper planning will make this process go smoothly as possible for you guys.

Good luck and all the best!

Agree with ^.

Just spend some time reading through the guides here on VJ. If you have a doubt, look it up - you will most likely find an answer on VJ itself. If that's not the case, start a new topic - ask your doubts - someone will definitely point you in the right path.

I know what you mean when you say you're busy and that you want things to move smoothly. Having said that, when John and I started out the process, we consulted with an immigration attorney - He quoted us $6k - which we thought was ridiculous - whether or not we had that kind of money is a totally different case.

John and I did everything by ourselves (granted we've only reached the NOA2 stage). If you think you have a strong case to file for K1, all you need to do is be organized and start collecting proof of relationship. Just work on getting things ready over the weekend / your days off. In effect, you will probably end up saving a lot of time if you consider lawyer contracts, fee payments, sending documents etc etc..

This is my personal opinion.

Not married before + No kids = very straight forward, right?

Plus, you've been together for 2 years.

There really shouldn't be any complications as long as you follow the guides here.

Hi guys,

Thank you for the advises! Ours is a bit of a special case actually. Both of us are not married before, no kids and will be in our 2 year anniversary this July <3, first time applying for a visa.. we just wanted it to go a smoothly as possible. We are both nervous and not want to make mistakes or leave small important details. He had DUI before, long long time ago. I'm not sure if we should declare that or if that even matters?

What part of your case do you consider "A bit special"

Hiring a lawyer does not equate a smoother process. If your case is straight forward and there's nothing outstanding that could cause an issue down the road then do it yourself. It's not as hard as it seems, and this site will be your best resource. Best of luck on your journey!

The total amount of days from the date I mailed in our K1 Visa application to the day my fiancé stepped foot into the USA:

1 year, 3 months and 8 days.

The amount of days from the date we mailed in our AOS to the date everything was approved (after 3 RFEs):

7 months & 5 days

Which makes our journey a total of:

2 years, 3 months, and 8 days

(L)"I remember the days I prayed for everything I have now." (L)

We used Rapidvisa with their premium review and just filed middle of April... I am glad we did they found a couple small mistakes in our petition. It adds about a week to the process for them to review everything and costs extra but for us it was worth it not having to worry about this process. Their support is very good in answering questions.

We used Visanow and we've been very happy with them. They asked for a lot of documents in advance after our NOA1 and more proof of relationship in case we get RFE or anything. They answer our questions very fast. I'm happy we got them because my fiancé and I were very lost and we couldn't figure out where to begin, and knowing us I'm sure we would have forgotten many things. It's good to have such places helping us.

This is not purely a DIY site and not everyone here feels the same as you regarding using services and/or lawyers. It's up to each individual to determine what they are comfortable with and how to manage their own time.

Hi! My fiance (now husband) and I just used the guides here on VJ. Before we started the process, neither of us have any idea of what to do and where to start. We were both busy too, but we managed to set aside a time on our "skype dates" every night to read about fiance visa, the requirements and all the procedures. Then slowly gather some of the things that we might need. We just read and followed the Step by step guide here on VJ. If we have any questions or need to clarify something, we search here or post a question. The folks here are very helpful. :) .. you can also use the government websites for reference and clarification. But for us, most of our questions were answered here. Look for Hank_'s profile. He has very helpful links and guides specific for Philippines. :)

Good luck!

Hi guys,

Thank you! (L)

I used easyfiancevisa.com. I think they may be the same law firm. I can say easyfiancevisa.com is legitimate and did wonders for us.
