(CNN)A Utah mom who admitted to killing six of her babies soon after giving birth was given a hefty prison sentence Monday.

Megan Huntsman, 40, pleaded guilty in February to six counts of felony murder. She will spend at least 30 years in prison before she is eligible for parole.

"I really thought I had seen it all until this case," Judge Darold McDade said during sentencing on Monday.

Utah authorities were called to a Pleasant Grove residence a year ago after Huntsman's estranged husband, Darren West, found a baby wrapped in a plastic bag in the garage. Police eventually found the bodies of seven infants.

Huntsman told police she strangled or suffocated at least six babies immediately after she gave birth to them between 1996 and 2006. The seventh, she said, was stillborn.

"Each baby was found wrapped in either a towel or a shirt, placed inside of a plastic bag, and each was contained in a separate cardboard box," a probable cause statement from last year said.

If she had just killed the babies a few months earlier….she would be a poster child for the pro-choice crowd.

It odd how one day its a perfectly legal abortion…but the next day it is murder. I just find that so odd. I know that there are cut-offs for late term abortions…….but there still is a day that it goes from legal to illegal.

It odd how one day its a perfectly legal abortion…but the next day it is murder. I just find that so odd. I know that there are cut-offs for late term abortions…….but there still is a day that it goes from legal to illegal.

It's not odd. It's a legal concept that you happen not to agree with. It's an extension of a medical concept, that was legally established 40 years ago. That is that fetal viability begins at the start of the third trimester. Over time, that definition of viability has changed due to improvements in medical technology. It's not an arbitrary number.

She killed the babies after they were born. Legally defined as murder.

Except that months earlier she would have terminated a pregnancy which is different in the eyes of the law. Months earlier the babies would have been fetuses. Heck, why not just put in jail all women who are still having periods? After all they are killing their eggs in the process..

And exceedingly misinformed as well. There are countless numbers of homeless children in our country and the pro-choice crowd is not hurrying to adopt them. They are very good at giving lip service about the sanctity of life, when in fact they couldn't care less.

As someone pointed out, pro-life is a misnomer. These people are, in fact, pro-birth. That's where their convictions end and hypocrisy begins.
